Warrington all stars must be pretty near to their salary cap limit now. Whilst it would have been nice to have Smithy back. I feel that now we have Delaney and once Scotty is fit Smithy would have struggled to get in the starting 17 anyway.

Been playing in the A team usually, but hasnt even been picked for that this week, so unless he has got a suprise call to the full team then he has been left out of both teams this week.

Very much doubt it. Been speaking to someone close to the situation.

Wasps are trying to "iron out his RL habits" and if he comes back to RL it will be full time as they don't want him back.

We have offered him £60k pa but he's on £160k at Wasps so he's in no rush to come back. I suspect if he does come back we're out of the running.

not sure if you have any idea but is 60k more less or about the same as he was on before? would he be on 60k till season end or is it a longer offer?

I heard a sobbering rumour jay pitts got a pay rise coming to Leeds and is on 15k a year, which makes a change from hearing player x is on 50% of the cap or other bs

Well i've just read thou the 2nd/3rd page of this thread. The word I used in retaliation was wrong and I do apologise to those offended. To me it was not a very insultive word but to others obviously so. But to set the record straight as Rhinoms said I was insulted unprovoked prior to that, in which caused my retaliation.


Back to the thread I doubt we will be bringing anyone in, esp Smithy who wont come cheap salary wise which GH has already indicated is a big problem.

I ignore what GH says regarding the salary cap.

If you're talking about a loan arrangement I really can't see it happening as I fail to see what LS would be getting out of it; it wouldn't progress his union career, nor would it be in his interests assuming other league clubs were offering longer term contracts.

Agree, Also why would Lee Smith give up so early? Ok If Lee had been at the wasps for 2 years and was still in the reserve side then maybe so, but after just 5 months? Nah

You're correct, a loan agreement certainly wouldn't make sense, especially not for Wasps, so it's back for good or not at all. The delay in him coming back has most certainly been contractual stuff, which is understandable because Wasps obviously want to try and salvage something from their mistake.

If he does come back, it really will beg the question how many more will try to cross the great divide? Plenty have come back tails between legs less than a year in, having never been given/taken a chance

I'm glad that you've now accepted that you were in the wrong. Retaliating is acceptable, escalating is unneccessary and if you don't think the word you used was offensive would you be happy if someone called you a <REMOVED> ?
