| No big surprise, I posted the other week he would be the first coaching dismissal this season. If we don't achieve a top four finish then Brian Mac will also be paid off.

| He turned Saints from the "Entertainers" into the "borers".
Their sole attacking ploy seemed to be get as close to the opponent's line as possible then give to either Walmsley or Amor to barge over.
Tedious to watch & even worse than us.

| Not surprised they were very ordinary even when winning the GF.
He also lacked brutal honesty after many defeats & had too many excuses imo.

| Bad news for us, he was well on his way to taking Saints to the middle 8s and it now means Saints are on the look out for a new head coach which means we will be competing for the same targets (assuming we are actually looking).

If they really want the club to be out of the top eight I would say that's a good option.
Anderson could never get the Giants to perform when it really mattered - he only has the job with England because of Ralf Rimmer

Not so sure that is correct, or fair. But I would say Anderson isn't their answer.
Not sure they have really thought it through too much, but I do applaud them in taking action. Just like us before it was never going to fix it's self, and they have took the action in good time. Problem is, if they don't make the right appointment they are just wasting time. Wouldn't be surprised to see Millward back there, and that would be a dumb move. Might work for a season, but long term would fall.

How did the Giants do at the business end of the season under Anderson?
What qualifications does he have to be an assistant coach at international level other than being out of work and having a close connection to a major influencer in the decision process?

Good call Whilst I did not like Ballou as a player (due to first trademark running in with a raised elbow) I think he deserved better than the Dwarfs treatment

He did a good job with them, then reached his end point, so they acted. Were the Giants better under him than they were previous? are the Giants worse since he went than when he was there?
He can do a job can the guy. But I already agreed for a top club it wouldn't be the appointment I would look at.

Absolutely, in recent months when I hear suggestions that peacock and sinfield should replace Brian Mac it concerns me. Maybe if they go and gain experience at other clubs and and then return. Even then I would be apprensive. I much prefer to remember them for the last treble winning season.
Not certain what happened at HKR with peacock, certainly you would not describe it as a roaring success.
On the other side of the coin, wane has been successful at Wigan ,yet Cullen was a disaster at the wire.

Were they not bottom when Anderson was dismissed?
Are the Giants bottom now - so it could argued things have improved since he left?

We were bottom throughout his final season, so unlikely.

Wane coached at St Pat's (or was it St Anne's?} before working his way up through the junior levels at wigan while learning from some decent coaches. Don't think Cullen had that grounding, nor Anderson, nor kc.
Don't think saints have a chance of luring powell but they might be tempting to denis betts who might not be a bad fit.

| People diss McNamara, mainly because he unforgiveably couldn't get an England team weaker in key positions to beat better teams when it counts. Yet he's the only British coach with the humility to recognise that maybe he needs to learn a bit more, and has spent time learning the ropes as an assistant in the NRL. I'd bet there would be many poorer Aussie coaches available.

They were 11th when he got sacked they are now 10th - not sure how that suggests they are in a worse place now than when Anderson was dismissed?
