| I thought he was very good in attack to be fair to him. The attempt on Dixon though was terrible.

I disagree, I thought he was actually one our better players tonight despite his contribution of mistakes.
He's 1 of many players to recently return from injury/suspension, rustiness is to be expected. He might be coming to the end of his tenure but I think he still has some life left in him and there are other players I'd look to replace before him!

| He wasn't the only one our marker defence was pi$$ poor too often and for the first time since he made his debut all those years ago "Sir Kev" let us down big time when we had them contained and leading.
Too much one out stuff and again passing wide to a static line with no dummy runners etc.
We failed to stop the offloads and had little or no composure at crucial times.

| We were much better in the 2nd half when JJB came on and the tempo seemed to lift. We passed the ball back inside from DH too often, and not enough players work hard enough to gain a quick PTB. Clark was good for Cas but he was running off the back of quick PTBs by the likes of Millington and Huby.
I have to say though it was a great game to watch, but from a Leeds perspective the last 15 minutes were some of the dumbest and frustrating I've seen in years!

| Our setting up for a drop goal has been pretty woeful for a while now I think.
Attack looked lively and risky and perhaps too much at times (likewise with Cas) it got both teams points in the first half and cost them points in the first half.
Defence was sloppy around the marker position again but didn't look too bad out wide.
Can't fault the effort in attack and defence though as it got quite tasty out there. Thought Leuluai in his 2nd spell and JJB both played very well and Ablett and Burrow always looked a threat. Watkins didn't look at the races after he was on his haunches near the end of the 1st half. Wasn't one of Peacock's better showings tbh even though he did the usual big effort he littered it with the early knock on and penalties.
Was frustrating to see both Hardaker and Hall try to power for the line on the 5th and get held up.

| Couple of minutes left on the clock, and you have the chance of a one pointer to steal the game.
Would you (a) pass to Danny Mac, or
(B) pass to Jamie Peacck
Answers on a postcard please

| The worst was when Hardaker called for more cover on the right and Bailey (sheep like) just vacated a hole the width of the gap between the posts without first checking that Ablett would take his place or warning the markers.. Talk about dumb.

| I have been a critic of McGuire for a while now...but I thought he played well. Yes his one on one tackling was shocking - no change there then. However for me his best performance for some time in attack.
Criticism of Hardaker too.....but obviously those critics are forgetting how Hardaker saves so many tries in defence: think it was one on Dorn especially that was crucial.
As for Sinfield....

| Regarding the drop kick attempt by Peacock what a great plan by our coach he completley outwitted Cas not one of their players realised it would go to him giving him a clear kick at goal

Nothing to do with the coach McGuire was set and Burrow just passed it to the wrong player. JP's good but h's no Danny Ward.

He was excellent 2nd half. Bailey and JJB played well too. However, Achurch was poor again in a high intensity game. He's one of the laziest maker defenders I've ever seen.

Amazing blunder by Burrow......but pales into insignificance next to you-know-who.
Maybe just maybe the indispensable triumvirate is begining to crumble
Agree about JJB.....good to see him back on that performance.
Ablett though is increasingly becoming the new cornerstone (and first name on the teamsheet) of the future pack

| Regarding the drop goal attempt. Whilst not the best from Burrow I wasn't too keen on the positioning of McGuire as it made a pass back to him trickier than it needed to be if he was instead several steps to the left.

His drop on Carney was singly good. Carney didn't like it.

The injury to Achurch has seemingly ground his form to a halt. Hopefully he'll re-group quickly.
(he only got small minutes in his stint)

Yep, I also think he should play out wide in the back row, he's never a prop and he struggles to adjust to the pace of games making him a terrible defender around the ruck.

So what is it that you expect from your Scrum Half? Spend their time tackling? Far too much is being made of one glaring miss. Danny was influential in two tries and made the great kick for Briscoe's try. His attacking kicks in general play are good and his direction of the attacking and defensive formation occupy a good deal of his time and free up Kevin for a more defensive tackling role when Rob is at Hooker.
I thought Danny had a good game all round. We drew against a very good Cas team performance and, woops, went top.
