It's cost £12 for my train down, and £19 a night in the Travelodge as we booked early.

So less than £100 for my travel and 4 nights in London hotels, can't really grumble at that.

Well I also didn't know about the time change until reading this thread and whilst not surprised and it doesn't effect me as we're driving down and staying a couple of nights I have sympathy with the OP and anyone else whose train travel plans have been shafted.

Without being unsympathetic he didn't have to, he chose to. He went for the cheapest advance fare as soon as it came out. As the uncaring old fart Field has said, that is a gamble. He could have waited and paid a little more or he could have paid a little more for alternative travel arrangements. He made his choice.

The "complaint" here seems to be that he won't get his dirt cheap deal. I am not too sympathetic.

Then again, I AM sympathetic with the point that the RFL do not make life easy for it's paying spectators on occasions.

So why does it say a 3pm kick off in the club programme issued for the Blackpool game and actually pretty much every club programme issued this season ?

Let's assume that I didn't have the internet to check the respective club websites and relied on the club's 'official publication' on which to base my travel plans .... If the fixture has been changed as far back as people have said, then surely there's been ample opportunity for the club to have gotten their finger out and altered in the the fixtures section of the programme ?

I spend most of my week driving up and down the country .... It's not something I'd prefer to do on my weekends too.

I've got other concerns to think about too, but given the pi$$poor crowds that London get, you'd have thought the powers-that-be would have taken in to account what the customers want on the off-chance of getting half decent crowds down there.

The bottom line is I get a cheap deal on the train and can afford to go down .... Or try to get a ticket nearer the time when the powers that be actually decide they're going to play the game and find that there isn't a reasonably priced train ticket to be had and all that's left it is way out of my budget range.

BTW, I'm not the only fan who posts on these boards who has been shafted by the usual high standard of RFL communications .... The club websites saying one thing and the SL 'official' (sic) website and the Leeds programme saying something else. With organisation like that, which one should I believe or should I go spend my hard-earned dosh on someother activity that can actually be bothered to give people the correct information ?

But my OP mentions about coach travel ... I've got a dodgy knee and whilst's it's OK for journeys across northern england, the thought of five hours to London isn't a pleasureable one.

Its unfortunate that your topics purpose in lamenting your expenditure losses has been based on poor information.
But i think that information goes both ways.
You have pointed out to us that the programme is incorrect and apparently has been repeatedly incorrect.
Unfortunately while complaining about the club putting out inaccurate information you took it upon yourself to PRESUME the kickoff change was SKY's fault at some quite significant length,without further investigation.Seems a bit inconsistent to me.
I dont see why you then add your quote about "but if i didnt have the internet to check,i would use the club info" thats purely hypothetical and serving no purpose because by being on here you have the options.
Have you made this inaccuracey known to the Club?Grumbling about it with us doesnt really prove much OR correct information OTHERS may us as THEIR sole source of schedule info.
.I doubt anyone presumes RL sources exist fault free(SL website as i pointed out myself) and when we know kickoffs change you took a personal gamble when booking early.
I feel that as each person has asked critical questions about your choices you should have just held your hand up on said--"ok i basically got it wrong".

At 8.50am this morning I emailed The club to clarify the conflicting information on kickoff times specifically wishing to understand how that was related to the match programme.
I ALSO MENTIONED I WOULD BE RELAYING ANY INFORMATION RECEIVED ONWARD TO THIS TOPIC.
At 10am i received a reply from a prominent member of staff at Headingley,who told me the situation as they saw it as pertinent to the PROGRAMME.

QUOTE--- "It only came to light yesterday that the kick off time has been moved by Quins to 5pm when the tickets for the game arrived at our ticket office. We have asked the RFL for an explanation of how the kick off was moved without our knowledge and we are awaiting a reply from them. This is not the usual protocol as both the RFL and the opposition club are notified of any suggested change before it is confirmed however this does not appear to have happened in this instance.

Therefore, the information in the programme was correct at the time of printing to the best of our knowledge. I hope this clears the matter up for you." UNQUOTE.

This does raise an interesting issue in respect of other sources of fixture information.I am though encouraged by the fact i asked a question and got a speedy reply.

To confuse things further, the England Vs France international at Leigh is kicking off at 5.15pm.

Is the Leeds game going to be condemed to the Red Button, if we're going to covered by Sky ? And if we're not, why mess about with the kick off time in the first place ?

Wouldn't it be far more logical to show the London game first as a warm up at 3pm, then allowing the fans at The Stoop into the bar to watch the England international from Leigh (or let Admiral & co to get a train) and end the evening with the England wendyball world cup match.

Or is the England RL website talking bollards with regards to kick off times too ?

TRY READING the Quins site and read the release on the matter.

I agree in many ways.My first query in that respect would be why one side of the office doesnt seem to have known yet the IT/website management side did have the correct information shown.

Hi TVOC,you are correct.The reasons i find it appropriate to mention it in that way are.....
a/I dont have knowledge if they have recourse to respond here.
b/Therefore may not chance to acknowledge their level of involvement--'messenger' or action processor.
c/Therefore it would seem unjustifiable to leave their name open to possibley misdirected criticism.
d/I have seen instances on RLSA where quoting sources only brings comment deletion.In some cases depending on who you are.
e/As we seem to be in a blame culture,i feel the 'statement' to be more pertinent.
