RR has reliably informed us that we MIGHT not have to watch rat boy very soon. I have no reason to disbelieve so we should celebrate with a home made cake. The wife does most of the cooking and baking in our house. Any suggestions on the type of cake to bake!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if I turn out to be wrong (which lets not rule out!), I still think we should use this opportunity to have cake. Although it's Monday, so I suppose we could use that as an excuse to.

I've just declared Monday 18th April 2011 - National Cake Day! (Until tomorrow, when National Cake Day will be moved and celebrated on Tuesday 19th April 2011).

Any reason for cake should be taken. I am assuming NCD will be moving with the date. Every day should be a cake day

Believe it or not, Friday is my Birthday so that really is my annual National Cake Day.

I am currently working my way through twelve big vanilla cup cakes with chocolate topping that I baked on saturday while the wimmin in the house were out at work, if you'd told me five years ago how these roles were reversed then I'd have laughed, nay scoffed in your face.

However, I bake ace buns, big ones.

Took my 8 year old to Costa yesterday lunch.

Me: "What cake do you want?"
Him: "Carrot cake"
Me: "No. You can't have carrot cake. It's not right"
Him "I would like carrot cake please"
Me: "Cappuchino and carrot cake please."



Have I been a bad parent allowing this to happen? Should I hve just bought him a double chocolate mcmuffin and explained to him why carrot cake is wrong?

I don't think they did have cake, its a very unfortunate story.

The HR Manager here is married to a chef
He bakes a chocolate cake last night and aforementioned HR manager brought it in for us to eat.

It was very nice, and I may be tempted to have seconds later this afternoon after the 'new cider tasting' session I have been invited to.
It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.

Should we hold some sort of Celeb laden telethon encouraging people to give what they can in his memory? Nobody should be without cake. We could spend any money raised on cake, then dress as Victorian Artists and eat the cake on his behalf. I'm sure someone would say a few words. It would be touching.
