| Quote ="leeds owl"I’m glad you’re optimistic Chapy. We’ve struggled to get a win in away games recently, only 3 points from the last 12 and only 3 goals in those 4 games. Got to say, at Bristol and Millwall we looked pretty toothless. Gnonto has looked a little lost to me without Ramazani and started making some bad decisions, that certainly hasn’t helped. We really need someone up top to have a real purple patch and take most of the chances that they get. Swansea and Blackburn will be tough games. I’m hoping if the results aren’t what we’d like leading up to Xmas the club will seriously go after another centre forward. We’ve also got to start getting some early, quality ball into the box for whoever is up top. We’re well in the mix, and after such a turbulent pre season I’d certainly have taken where we are at the moment. We just need that little extra going forward for me.'"
Thought i would try the positive vibes to see if it helped
I totally agree we need to get the ball in the box earlier than what we do instead of playing the tippy tappy stuff outside the box.
A fair bit of that is down to our wingers cutting in field and going it alone instead of staying out wide and feeding the centre forward who imo should then be supported in the box by the number 10 or one of our midfielders otherwise the CF is outnumbered by the 2 centre halves.
Interesting to read Orta admit that he didn`t want to pay 12 million for Gyokeres when we had a chance to sign him but instead spent almost 3 times more on Rutter.

Positive vibes always help. It counters the pessimists like me My excuse is that since my first game in 1975 I’ve developed some kind of LUFC PTSD with all the trauma, and I’m forever waiting for the wheels to come off again. Having said that, my happiest days following Leeds were 1982-1987 when they’d just been relegated and were absolutely gash. It coincided with me starting work and having the money to follow them all over the country. They had household names like Wayne Entwhistle, Ken De Mange and Russell Doig . Let’s just say it’s a journey when you follow the whites.

| It certainly is a journey and if there`s a hard way to do it you can bet that`s the one we will choose.
I`ve had the pleasure of knowing and socialising with some of the Leeds greats in Paul Reaney, Eddie Gray, Bobby Collins, John Charles, Joe Jordan, Gordon McQueen and Terry Yorath.
I`ve also seen some right dross including the names you mentioned mate.
I`m hoping we really can kick on up to Christmas bring in a ten or centre forward plus one other and push for promotion.
Knowing us we will end up in the play offs just to stretch the nerves even further.

Leeds United
Swansea City (A) - November 24

Blackburn Rovers (A) - November 30 (1:30pm)'"
some very tough fixtures for Sunderland. As mentioned on here, our away form though is pretty average and needs to improve if we are to get some breathing space from the rest. Can see us getting 2 wins and a draw but ideally 9 would be nice. we need to get to the top and put pressure on the rest chasing..

we haven't got going but all being well as players return we'll get stronger and more consistent.

The UEFA Nations League fixtures are an absolute joke and a perfect example of the greed that is killing football for many people. It is also another kick in the teeth for loyal fans that can end up travelling 400-500 miles for a midweek game to accommodate this crap. Drives me mad.

Haha that`s true.
Trouble is I remember those days like they were yesterday.
Unfortunately I can`t remember what I did the day before that mate.
Used to go with my Dad when I was 9 or 10 to both Rugby League and ER.
I then followed Leeds RL both home and away for many years travelling with the likes of Roy Dickinson and Kevin Dick and stood in the old Scratching Shed back in the days at ER with one or two let`s say colourful characters!!
Of course I was innocent in those days and no idea where the scars came from!!

Fortunately not Tad, I was a pretty fast runner in those days.
The only banning order I got was at the Cats Whiskers in Meanwood

Happy days. My dad also took me to my first games, both Leeds RL and United in 1975. Leeds RL away games on the Wallace Arnold around the back of the Corn Exchange and service train or Pioneer Branch coach for Leeds Utd. I remember getting a Family Railcard in the mid 80’s for Leeds Utd games. As a responsible father of 18 years old I had to encourage my children to shave in order to take them as kids anywhere across the UK for £1. Strangely enough one of my kids was a couple of years older than me and that became a bit of a problem. Portsmouth away cost us the grand total of £20 for 5 people, £16 for me the as the parent and £1 each for my four kids. It was tough times back in the 80’s and you had to be a little enterprising at times .

I reckon he will be on the bench for this one building him up gently.
Meslier
Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Byram
Tenaka, Rothwell
Gnonto, Aaronson, Solomon
Joseph
Swap James and Ramazani for Gnonto and Solomon last 20 minutes along with Piroe for Joseph.

| That was a masterclass from Dan James on how to play as a winger. Direct, unselfish, running into space and three assists. His work rate was phenomenal considering he’d been on international duty. Piroe should be ashamed by comparison, what a soft, lazy t**t. Tanaka was fantastic again, just the signing we needed, and thought Byram gave us some good width and penetration out wide left. The defence was poor today, thankfully we got away with it. Great to be sitting top, no mistakes on Wednesday and this has the makings of a really good week for us.

| Two of the best defences and 7 goals scored confused.com
Struijk with his 1 mistake per game almost cost us.
Messlier again faced 5 shots 3 conceded but not sure if he could/should have saved at least one of them.
Aaronson doing an impersonation of Jack Harrison and Piroe not at it today.
Tanaka, James and Solomon top class and it shows a resilience and fight in the team which is pleasing to see.
We are quite a small team and tend to get punished by the more physical teams.
But 3 points and 2 gained over Sheffield and Sunderland will do.
