Did you know that, in Madeira, the stuff we call Madeira cake they call Tea Cake.
I didn't get into the usual teacake-is-a-kind-of-bread argument with them, it's bad enough trying to tell Lancastrians, never mind Madeirans.

In Madeira, they also have something called Bolos de Mel which we would call Honey Cake, it's round, brown and sweet and contains a fair old amount of honey (or, more usually, cane syrup).
I was told that is the genuine Madeira cake.
I had to try some.
Lovely with a cup of coffee.

I had a yum-yum again today
Absolutely awful, sickly, they don't even use sugar, it tastes of saccharin, f'kin horrible, food of the devil.

If I am honest I cannot really remember what he used to say, probably done him a mis service, it was a long time ago when I was a athelete!!

I still remember something along the lines of 5 fruit and veg a day was rubbish.
Then again he used to make us eat tuna before we excersised as it didnt hurt when we vomitted so he probably had lost the plot.

Even direct line are offering free cake now with their car insurance, I'm very tempted to sign up and I don't even have a car!

There's a bit of a cake revolution going on at the minute. It's a bit like when you get a car, and then seem to spot loads of that car driving around. The more you talk about cake, the more it crops up in places.

I spotted the other day that on twitter, Dan Walker (presents Football First) has in his profile blurb... "Man on the TV, Cake Lover, Christian, Husband of 1, and father of 3.".

RR has reliably informed us that we MIGHT not have to watch rat boy very soon. I have no reason to disbelieve so we should celebrate with a home made cake. The wife does most of the cooking and baking in our house. Any suggestions on the type of cake to bake!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if I turn out to be wrong (which lets not rule out!), I still think we should use this opportunity to have cake. Although it's Monday, so I suppose we could use that as an excuse to.
