Wasn't particularly clear from the replays where Lilley copped that knock to his nose. Certainly nobody near his face as he dives over, so whether there's been a collision somewhere as he regathers the ball I can't tell. No obvious foul play though.

What should've merited a further look at the time was the knees in back of Keinhorst as he went over for his try. No different to the one on Ratchford by Farrell in my opinion, which resulted in an 8 point try.

If that even came into the consideration, all three members of the MRP need to be packed up and sent on their way.
I'd hate to think we were sliding back into the bad old days where shots to the head were an accepted part of the game.

No idea. 64th minute, but can't recall a penalty being given or anyone passing comment during the game.

| Quote ="Maverick Rhino"Watts was also 20 meters offside when the ball was played. Cobb had a way out of his big foul play decision, he could have just binned him for a professional foul. My view is he forgot about that altogether whilst worrying about and bottling the bigger call.
Ablett nails it if you listen to the audio. "Direct contact to the head". How many times do referees trot that one out in fake conversations with touch judges, aka video referees? They all forgot about it in this incident.'"
Absolutely. In fact, had Cobb not been so defensive and considered what Ablett was saying he might have gotten the call right. All Cobb did was complain to our captain and ask him to talk to Ablett. Our captain ignored Cobb and said we only wanted " a fair shake" which he felt we weren't getting.
Not the greatest display of refereeing or captaincy there.

Oh yeah for anyone that was wondering, pretty much any game on sky over last season and this is on Youtube! Obviously the quality isn't HD.
F*ck the sky subscription! Another way to escape consumerism.

I agree it wasn't clear as he appeared to get up with no blood visible but once the euphoria of his first try passed it was clear from his reaction he'd copped a knock. It came from the initial contact from Houghton, genuine attempt to prevent a player scoring low to the ground.

I don't think it was as bad, for one it wasn't Liam Farrell, I also don't recall any adverse reaction to the challenge from Keinhorst although in fairness to Jimmy he was probably already suffering from shock receiving a great pass from a player who according to some is incapable of supplying one.

If you haven't heard it already I can recommend last week's RL Renegades podcast from Rod Studd to hear Brian Carney (who I liked as a player and even moreso now) go to town on the match review/disciplinary. Didn't know it existed but followed a link from Studd's Twitter account.

I'll try to give it a listen and skip through the bits where Studd is talking.

There are always exceptions to every rule! I give Hardaker the credit and benefit of the doubt but the pass was launched into space rather than to a player and the very underrated Keinhorst made it into a great pass by tracking the trajectory and running onto it at a great angle and pace. If Hardaker looked to pass more often rather than always trying to crash through the man and so die with the ball he would become a much better player.

I agree in general re Hardaker, though like Sutcliffe who receives similar criticism, they've rarely had many good options to pass to. On this occasion he did thanks to some good support running from the left hand side.
On a related note I think Keinhorst is really proving his worth. I hope Leeds keep hold of him.

I think Hardaker has been trying to add more passing to his game this season, obviously aware of his shortcomings in this area, and our limitations with creative players absent.
Glad to see him trying to improve his game, rather than rest on his laurels, even if it will lead to a few more errors in the short term until it becomes more natural to him

| Thing is with Zak he trys to do too much with the ball sometimes if you know what I mean, trying to skin 5 players with pace who now know just how dangerous he is as a running threat but know its odds on that he wont pass so can focus on shutting him down. Instead of letting the ball do the work with a smart pass / offload and keeping defenders guessing and putting doubt into their descision making.

Quote ="Juan Cornetto"Golding has all the attributes to become a big star. He has pace, good hands ability to make clean breaks, is brave and is a heads up attacking player who finds space and holds the ball in two hands. That you are unable to spot these skills is unfortunate as is your belief that looking to make contact is an asset. Attacking back play is all about avoiding contact and seeking space which you seem to equate with being unhappy with contact. '"
He may have some of the attributes you describe but bravery IMO isn't yet consistently among them. Was he avoiding contact to seek space when with his first carry he ran virtually along the try line not making nor seeking to make any forward progress whatsoever (in doing so giving up valuable territory) until after dummying a pass to Hardaker he finally headed upfield surrendered into the Hull defensive line and was driven back around three metres. Joe Vickery deservedly got sacked over a similar looking effort at the KC Stadium with an even more disasterous outcome.
Not suggesting the same should happen to Golding, he also made some good determined carries mixed in with the poor ones. I'm hoping he can ditch the half d efforts because I agree there could be a player in there worth persevering with but I've yet to see a 1st grade performances where he's consistently brave and it'll remain an issue until he does ..... for me.

Doesn’t sound like he’s one of your experts whose opinion you trust and value at least not with regards to who should have coached England RU in their home World Cup. I imagine this Jones fella disappeared after embarrassing himself with those comments and was never heard of again.

Nor should it as it was a non-opinion based on no knowledge or interest but then why have you held on to it for four years while mis-representing it as my rubbishing a young player.
