Why not introduce headguards for every player instead of this other rule that will kill the game?
I don`t mean the ones the American Footballers use but something similar maybe more durable to the one Johnny Lomax wears.
Surely that offers more protection.

Head guards offer no protection from concussion.

Concussion occurs from your brain jolting around in your skull.

Lomax suffered a fractured skull when he was younger, that’s why he wears it, even tho you could probably fracture your skull while wearing it but it offers some padding

Contact with the head is legal in boxing, it's not legal in RL. Retired boxers aren't suing the governing bodies en masse and driving insurance costs up though.

they go on and on about dementia in football but the percentage of ex players getting dementia is only in line with rest of society. meanwhile MMA and boxing, as seth states, aren't spoken about. I find it rather odd

They have made a lot of changes in boxing to make it safer over the decades. They've reduced the number of rounds, made gloves thicker and softer, they've reduced the the threshold in which a ref can stop a fight, they've introduced doctor stoppages, and they've introduced a minimum rest period for a fighter if he gets knocked out, and made medical personnel compulsory at ringside at every fight.

Poorest first half for some week, rolled down the middle too easily, 2 of their tries from 7 tackle sets tap on 20 and they have gone 80ms and scored and errors, hardly been out if our half and only 2 times we gave been deep in their territory we have scored, so we are still well in it. Hopefully we cannot be as bad second half. Cut the errors and cheap penalties, up the tempo in defence and think we can go on and win this

Once again we are bringing a whole new depth to lack lustre.
