| He said as much that the problem was lack of intensity and intent. Doesn't matter what gameplan you have if the team collectively is off the pace. You're right in that it is fixable, but the Hull game is really shaping up as important to get back on track as Sts the week after is a likely loss.

| Yeh it's a bad loss, but it's about how we react to it.
Smith comes across as taking it on the chin and then coming up with a plan to get it right.
I think he takes losses as learnings.
In the way that many other coaches look absolutely clueless when things are going wrong - Agar, Lam, Cunningham etc...
I like how he handles defeats.
No way is he first to get sacked.
Warrington will undoubtedly be top 3 - they should be given the money they've spent. And they look to have spent it well.
We're still only 5th or 6th I reckon.
Big game against Hull, but we need to get it right.

Not too sure about that. Full pre season. New players. Look clueless. I want it to go well, and not too bothered about the results but 2 more performances like that and we have to look for a new coach. This is dire. No better than McDermott or Agar.

Absolute nonsense .
Smith was brought in as a long term coach sacking him after 4 games this season would be ridiculous and wed be back to square one.
Some people have ridiculously short memories.

If Leeds sacked Smith after 4 games this year id seriously consider not bothering going again this year, id have no respect for the club

| Worth bearing in mind Smith is finding his way as a head coach as well.
He will be making mistakes. For mine we need to stick with him and let him get on with it. When push comes to shove this year, there’s probably 11 teams playing to come second in the GF.

Not gonna happen this year. Don’t worry. Just hyperbole from people who don’t understand the game or process of elite sport….

| He can join others failing upwards in McDermott and Agar then....
It feels like there must be something more than just results. While some will say its way too early we've also seen what can happen if you leave a mess too long.
I have to say issues seem to follow Widdopp around wherever he goes....

| Cas were dreadful on Friday night. It was typical Radford, a plodding forward coached team. His Hull coached team were the same, but they had the remnants of a quality squad with the individual brilliance to pull off big game victories with un-planned moments of flare. Without Mamo, & with McShane off after a few minutes, Cas had nothing but Miller running round in desperation. Hopefully Last won't won't last.
Widdop was crap but I don't blame him for the overall performance.

| Was hopping we went there in 2 weeks and put the nail in the coffin. Awful coach was always odd choice for Cas or anyone to be fair.

| How long do we think Applegarth has left at Wakey?
I'm sure I remember reading (or hearing) that he was implementing a new attack strategy in and claimed it may take a 'week or two' to get used to. I can't find anything about it now, and starting to think I've imagined it. Anyone know more?

| They would be absolutely bonkers to get rid of Uncle Tony. (although would totally be a very FC thing to do tbh)
Hes going to need at least a season or two to get rid of some of the dead wood there and truly implement his methods onto that team.
Applegarth is a strange one, have the players just not bought in to these new methods? They didnt look like they had a clue against us for large swathes of that game Friday. There was a real feelgood factor around the club preseason, new stand, players coach etc but thats all gone in the bin recently as reality has arrived.

we're more than happy with Tony Smith and understand that he has a monster job on his hands sorting out the rubbish that was left for him. We have no expectations of anything good for this season but are confident that time will show that we made the right decision in appointing him.
