I’ve lost count of how many yellow cards and suspensions we’ve had this year.
It’s critical we don’t get any v Saints. In particular Bentley needs to just take whatever stick he gets.
Not just to help keep the score down.
We need as many available, particularly forwards for the vital 4 games in 2 weeks in late April v hudds, Cas, Toulouse and HKR, where we need some wins.

In our weird fixture list, we then have only 2 games in May with only a 5 day gap between Salford and Wakey. This month could give a new coach chance to try and improve us a bit.

But we could be staring down the barrel by then.
From June We then have 6 in a row not at home. Wire, hudds, saints, hull, Toulouse away and Cas at magic. This is a tough run for any new coach.

That’s why I would rest most of our very brittle and flogged pack v Saints. We are not getting anything but a hiding from this one, but can regroup with a week off and come again….

Toulouse beat Saints remember, do I expect us to win? No. Is there a small possibility of us winning? Yes. We go out all guns blazing for the 2 points. Moral and confidence is clearly well down, a good performance against Saints can help to turn that around.

The problem is that Toulouse will give each match a good go. Leeds are currently beaten before they even enter the field, their heads are gone.

I'm increasingly worried Fusitua is crocked, and brought in as a panic buy because there were no props available. He seems to look hurt after every collision!

I don't think he's crocked, I do think he's very much a confidence player. This has been privately suggested by a former SL and International coach in the past.

If we get a settled team, and start to improve our defensive performances so we are "in" games, then I think we will start to see a bit more of what he can do. It's hardly his fault he got knocked out by Currie and then picked up an innocuous knee injury.

We have far bigger problems than Dave.

I'm not saying we don't have bigger problems, but I do worry we've used our last quote spot on him when we could have gone for an overseas prop.

There's been quite a few player movements in SL that we didn't take advantage of when we could. I think George Lawler or Joe Burgess would have been good value acquisitions. Still, hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Despite the dubious decision to sign a winger when a prop was urgently required, we need to be patient with Fusitu'a. Apparently only out for a couple of weeks so we might well see the best of him before long. He'll certainly benefit from a change to our masterful tactic of "give it to the big Tongan lad". Maybe "create space for the big Tongan lad" will work better. Worth remembering that Field at Wigan barely got on the pitch last year. Look at him now.

I'm not going to name the coach, but fair to say you have definitely heard of them and they've been around for long enough to know what their talking about.

A winger was needed as well. Handley was our only quality winger, both as a finisher and someone with the ability to go the length of the field, and while I like him a lot he's struggled for form since the season before last. It's fair to say that Newman is the only strike player in our entire backline (Fusitua aside, and we've not seen enough from him to tell yet). Walker is still very much a work in progress, and the team still arguably look better with the stop-gap move of playing Myler at full-back.

Could we try Austin and Broadbent at centre? No, I don't know who should play at stand-off, but if Sezer hits some form perhaps it doesn't matter as much...

For all the optimism a few weeks ago about new signings and moving forward.
We now look like a ramshackled, thrown together outfit, desperately trying to scrape a result from somewhere.
Depressing times.

We need to get tomorrow night out of the way with no more injuries or suspensions and get prepped for the next 6 games in April/May.
Hopefully with a new coach in place.
We need 6 - 8 points from those games otherwise we are bang in trouble.

I'm absolutely fuming with it... enough is enough with the underperforming over these last 5 or 6 years.

I watched 'as good as it get's' (the Rhinos doc not the film) last night again.

It's like a world away and in reality its only 7 years ago, but it is interesting as you can see that the ageing team in 2015 was absolutely shot by the end of the season, an incredible team of players that we were lucky to have watched but it should have been obvious that some succession planning was desperately needed especially as it was clear that Mcguire and Burrow weren't going to last too long either.

Im not angry, it's only sport and that's a wasted emotion, I am however really disappointed with how the club has handled the transition.

Very sad how far from those times we find our selves now. Sport goes in cycles no doubt but we've had long enough 'transition'.. lets hope we get back on the horse shortly. Not only does the club need it to happen asap but so does the wider game, same for Warrington. Its about time both clubs were pushing Saints Wigan Catalan hard.
