It was, that's what he's saying, that Gale didn't have the ball. The late review is ridiculous and inconsistent, the contact was made the most of by Gale.

Yeah agree re Gale but that'll be par for the course for anything late from now on. The review timing I'm with you on too. Presumably a few other players affected too?

| Having an interesting discussion on twitter with some of the loons from other clubs who seem to think its a conspiracy to get fuzzy off from an 11 game ban for his tackle - theres some real nutters on there

| So anyway Austin definitely out as were not appealing, really not sure what id go with - depends on Newman being fit and Walker being ready… but if both are good to go id go
Walker
Fuzzy
Newman
Briscoe
Handley
Myler
Sezer
Oledski
Leeming
Prior
Bentley
Martin
Smith
Dwyer
Tetevano
Donaldson/Gannon
????? Really not sure about the last bench spot
Wire are actually quite light in the pack also IMO
If Walker isn’t ready and Newman injured id put Myler at full back, Broadbent in the centres and Sutty at 6

| Leeming looked a better half than Myler and Sutcliffe last season, but unless Johnson starts at hooker with Dwyer on the bench, I can't see Agar going with that.
It then comes down to Myler or Sutcliffe. Both players who have stated they prefer to play in different positions to halfback. I don't like either at halfback but if Leeming is not an option andNewman is fit I would opt for Sutcliffe .
Oh for a Luke Gale.

| I really can't get my head round why so many think Sutty is still a viable option at six. He has no kicking game and lacks the vision to create chances for others. Give the poor lad a run at centre and do him a favour. Myler may not be a brilliant but he knows the ropes and along side Sezer he'll be OK. Walker, if fit, slots in full back and if not young Broadbent gets a go.

| I wonder if the regulation ban for a high late tackle is 2 games as in the case of Donaldson. Had Austin been dealt with last week and got 2 games one would have been used for the Hunslet game. But because the panel didn’t deal with it until this week only 1 game was given. It will be interesting to see what happens if there are any similar hits this weekend. Only the RL can be so stupid as to come out with a statement like we were too busy, surely the guys on the panel are not doing this purely for the love of the game so they should deal with all cases at the given time!
Re selection for Saturday Myler at 6 for me and Broadbent at 1 if Newman is fit. If Newman is out then Walker at 1 and Broadbent for Newman and Myler at 6.
Tet will be in front of Smith at 13, moving to prop when starting props rest.

I think Smith has earned the right in pre season yo get the starting 13 spot, The way Tet has been used so far in the friendlies suggests to me he is going to be a prop

| Austin getting banned has put bit of dampener on it from build up perspective. Channel 4 could have played on the ‘shafted’ Austin vs Old oppressor’s. But RL has again found a way to shoot itself in the foot……

Not suggesting Smith is not good enough or Tet is better. I just think that starting Tet at 13 and Smith on the bench is Agars preferred option.
I actually think Smith is a good player and has a great future and hopefully at Leeds.

Id suggest the pre season friendlies show otherwise.
Smith has been really good pre season, I guess we'll have to wait and see

| Time to move on, Austin isnt playing. I think the main battle will be up front. I know people want Cam Smith starting at 13 but you wouldnt be suprised to see Mik, Tet and Prior all starting with Smith on the bench again would you? Not saying thats right way to go but now Prior is fit you wouldnt be shocked if those 3 started.
Wire have a big advantage in the halves now but if our pack can get on top it will help stop that. Not sure who Wire have replaced Chris Hill with for this year. Maybe they are slightly weaker up front? I dont know. I can certainly see it being a physical battle Saturday.
Williams is pure class and a big danger. 2 very good teams it will be a big boost for whoever gets the points but both should be challenging come playoff time.

| Like others have said, Myler to half back and Walker / Broadbent to full back. Centre's two of Newman, Sutcliffe and Briscoe.
Shame to lose Austin, however, the above options are still more than capable.
I haven't seen Wanky's team for comparison. Shame Kendall is ref, worst ref in SL for mine.

From what the Wire fans are saying I think they also think they are a bit light upfront. Whilst Austin being out is a blow I don't think it will make or break the game, we have a capable squad.
Will be an interesting battle and hopefully a great spectacle for Channel 4
Just hope if we do lose this board doesn't go into meltdown, maybe a 'for the live of god Agar out' will pop up

I imagine Thompson will be thereabouts, he does add some bulk up front and he's generally solid if not spectacular.
Are we able to play O'Connor? As a makeshift half he could do a job, although if Sutcliffe is fit you'd imagine he'll slot in somewhere.
We could even play Briscoe on the RHS and Sutcliffe LHS in the centres, if Newman isn't fit. It's not like Briscoe doesn't have experience on the right. Broadbent then either in at 6 or on the bench perhaps as cover. I like Broadbent but his D is still suspect for me at times, he needs some more upper body development at open age.

I think our issue is we all know everything will go through Sezer now. Breaking them down wont be easy because of that.
Our advantage should be in the pack. If we are patient, not try and score on miracle plays and are disciplined in that approach we will be ok.
Bound to rust and cobwebs in week one tho.
