Will do very well to get two points on Thursday. I might be wrong but I believe we are yet to register a win without Gale. Will be playing without a spine once again. Need our senior players to show a bit more restraint when provoked.

Massive test this on Thursday. A win by any means will do. No halfbacks. Is Myler available?

This is the second time this season his indiscipline has meant we have no half for games.
Doesn't matter how many times he gets taken out. Throw punches and you get banned.
Down on numbers due to covid and injuries, yet we still shoot ourselves in the foot with poor discipline.

Injuries and suspensions aside, it is Leigh. If tetevano, prior, Mik, king and Holroyd are all fit I’d run over them down the middle early on then it wouldnt matter if we had Jordan tansey at 7. Hopefully by 50-60 mins prior and Mik and rest up.

No sign of edwards starting centre given hall has made the 21 ahead of him.

Be interested to see the video footage the RFL have reviewed to determine that the Gale incident warranted more than a yellow. Without footage, how can they further punish as the refs have already dealt with it.

Likewise, why was Mellor not penalised or sent off if he made contact with Hicks? Did Hicks not feel it?

As for Thompson, he ran in and took around 5 punches without throwing one. Red was harsh nevermind a ban.

If it's based on the match officials, then why was he not red carded during the game?

By sounds of it, he deserves a ban but surely the match officials can't change punishment when they did not deem it a red inplay.

The Match Commissioner cant issue a red card hes sat in the stands but he has to put in a full report to the RFL after the game for the disciplinary panel to review. If Mellor has put his hand on Hicks and the match commissioner sees it and puts in the report then its Mellors fault and nobody elses. For a 1 game ban it doesnt sound like its an aggressive act but players know they cant put hands on the match officials. Its stupid.

Ben Flower (can't say we're missing him because he never plays) Adam Sidlow Lewis Tierney, Brendan Elliot (covid), Alex Gerrard (same as Flower), Blake Wallace (same as flower/gerrard), Jamie Ellis & Tom Spencer have been loaned out, and Warrington youngster Keenan Brand doesn't get selected anymore.. None of them are match winners I know, but we only named an 18 man squad v Wire. I guess the players Leeds will have missing means that you might only score 30 -40 points.

It's so infuriating to watch in this team - you can see them losing the plot on the field and doing reckless, if not frankly stupid things. The Gale one is insanity. He's the captain and one of our most experienced players but part of the role is to keep your composure. Letting rip with a volley of punches might be crowd pleasing but it's stupid beyond belief.

Does anyone know if the club fines or sanctions players when they pick up a ban? We're going to have to start implementing this sort of thing if this team is going to learn the hard lessons they need to.

In terms of managing the cap our squad is too big and all ready have Bentley coming in.. We should be looking to trim 3 or 4 players in the off season and bring in no more than 2 players of high quality in the positions that we require

We'll have 4 overseas players to replace. Failure to do that with quality isn't going to get us back into contention for trophies.

Technically, he didnt put “hands on him”. It was during the melee after Hurrell was knocked out. Briscoe ran into the back of Hicks on his way in. And then Mellor followed. I thought Briscoe contacted Hicks worse to be fair but Mellor had his elbow raised as he contacted Hicks hence the Grade B and not A like Briscoe.

Would be tempted to put T.Briscoe back on Wing and give either Hall or Edwards a shot at centre but think Agar likes T.Briscoe at Centre. If Mellor doesn't win his appeal Walters should come in for him.

Really hard to say without knowing the real condition of the squad.

Might be tempted to start Holroyd and King at prop to give Mik and Prior some respite; bring them on when needed once some initial sting has gone from the game. There is also an argument for O'Connor in this one I feel - he has a massive workrate and will tidy up a lot of stuff Leigh offer down the middle.

That backline is actually pretty potent if we can unleash it. Tindall can cause all sorts of problems in some space - but we'll need to get on the front foot and not allow Leigh to put is under the pump too much in D. Time to give Tindall another run at first grade for me anyway. I think I prefer T Briscoe at centre than wing too!

I can’t see both Lui and McLelland being fit enough to play. I reckon halves will be Lui and Sutcliffe
