| For me it all changed when I had kids. Friday nights didn't fit into my lifestyle and gradually I didn't renew my season ticket and stopped going as much. Luckily my oldest 2 are getting into it and we're going to more games now, but they have to be weekends and there aren't many of them. For me it would be great to get more weekend matches and at more reasonable prices. The 3 of us sat in the south stand and it cost about £70. A far cry from when we got in for free as kids at half time.

Exactly the same - young kids make Friday nights very difficult, they’re tired and grumpy as hell come 8pm, never mind 9:30/10pm. It then has a knock on effect into Saturday, coz they’re still tired and therefore inevitably naughty on the Saturday. So, Friday nights are generally a no go, particularly if it’s on Sky - there’s no benefit to actually going to the game in person in our scenario.
We go to more away games than we do home games - the kids love it, but I do miss the routine of being a ST holder, and really wish I could give the kids the same experience I had as a kid of going to Headingley every other week, standing in the same spot, getting to know those who stand around you..... Will just have to wait until the youngest is around 8

And that's where I think friday night games have a negative on young kids coming to watch who are the future of the sport. My daughter whos 7 watches much more football than RL as it's on when shes awake usually sat avo sun avo etc and it's made her really get into it. She hardly sees RL with it being on late thurs n fri.

I'm 2 way on this. I don't doubt that Fridays are bad for young kids. However, for teenagers wanting to sup the odd under-age ale, chant, sing etc away from the influence of their parents it's much better (not necessarily for those of us who have to suffer their antics, mind). But like it or loathe it, some of them too are the fans of the future - and there's fewer years until they'll be paying top dollar for the privilege, a fact I'm sure that won't have escaped GH...

Thursday nights are even worse. At least with a Friday if the kids have a late night then they don't have to be up early for school the day after.

| I would imagine Friday nights are all about Corporate, which will make the club far more money than the actual attendance.
As I say I much prefer Friday nights to any other nights/days but I totally understand why people would prefer Sunday afternoons.

| Friday night for me also as its the start of the weekend and I can have a beer. If Leeds introduced more Sunday games then I would not renew as I believe there is already too many Thursday and Sunday games.

| Leeds tried Sunday games and attendances were poor. That was in the old winter era. Attendances picked up when we started playing Friday nights as our regular game time. I also remember supporters complaining that Sunday afternoons in summer clashed with playing/watching cricket and taking kids to the coast. I guess you can never win but personally I prefer the atmosphere on a Friday night to any other time!

| The quality of entertainment and, more importantly, the proportion of “W”s have more effect on Leeds’ attendances than anything.
We have also lost some fans through clubs getting relegated. The away support really helps create buzz around a fixture.
We also have outpost clubs (London, Toronto) who have no local derby available. It’s always amused me why some seem to think RL fans will travel like premier league football fans.
There are lots of things which could be done to boost attendances, but they are no longer the be-all commercially.

| We gained a lot of regular fans from 2004 onwards remember the 17K seasons? Then it evened off at 15 to 16 + . Now so e of those extra spectators weren't used to mediocre periods and fell away . I'm not calling them glory hunters because we want them back

They might be affected now , they are fans of both clubs who support both as well as cas ,wakey etc . Our crowds were on the rise though in Leeds Uniteds last good period. .itll be interesting to see
ER at present only holds 37k and they are getting over 35k now

| For me taking my kids to the games are a big thing and I much prefer the Saturday or Sunday games for their sake. It’s worth the season ticket for the young ones just if they go to them as it’s £50 all in.

| Games on Saturdays and Sundays potentially clashes with young ones and older ones actually playing the game.
Friday night games mean people can go to the game, have a beer and talk about the game in the changing rooms on the Saturday

| personally a new rota at work with a 8pm finish on thurs/fri has scuppered my chances of going to games except at weekend but then its £48 for me and the wife plus travel from selby so that restricts how often we see games

True, id forgotten about that, I was actually thinking it could be one of our lowest attendances for a league game in years, half expecting a sub 10,000 crowd

I’d imagine most will be saving theirs to use on a non Thursday game, I certainly am. Thursday is definitely the least popular match day, but with so much of the games income coming from Sky they are a necessity.
