You keep mentioning King we dont need him we have Johnson & we should extend Dwyers deal.

Do we have quota space for an overseas signing? Not sure if there’s a suitable player in SL/Championship unless we’re back in for Ikahihifo or some such.
Thing is if we are going to aim back at the top again, we are going to need props in that top/close to international quality. We have a couple of good young players coming through but they can’t be carrying the side at 18-20 years old.

I wonder if the Seb deal could be back on now.

What we don’t need and what the club do are totally different things, if they believe King would improve us, then they’ll do it, just like Donaldson.

But Donaldson hasn't improved us.

I don't know anything about King but the hooking role has been a problem for years and has been constantly changed hopefully Corey Johnson can be the man to stop that. He's not the quickest but his dummy half play is very clever and I hope he gets his chance sooner than later.

Signing 2nd rate Aussies instead of promoting our academy kids will not bring success to Leeds.

I saw King last week, he looks a good thinking hooker, not quick, but reads the game well. Very good defender. But not someone that stands out.

I too have heard the same as Frosties, that King at Fev was always a trial for a future at Leeds.

IF that is the case, I doubt very much that it will be at the expense of Johnson. That would be stupidity. That lad is clearly the potential to be international class and quickly. I have said this for a number of years and maintain it, he is just like Daryl Clark when younger, with the added quality of actually reading the game around him. He can play various other positions should it be needed, so his value to a seventeen is pretty big. I do t know how he would cope physically yet, but still think the sooner he is introduced the better. He was always the X factor player of that age group we have talked about for last three years.

I don't think Corey has anywhere near the speed of Daryl Clark but he's just a good footballer. He makes the right decisions has the brain to throw a dummy and go through or give the pass at the right time. His dummy half play is very clever and improving all the time. Just a really good player and has a real chance.

It looks like Parcell won't be at Leeds next year, he's a far better player than Dwyer but he's not showing it at the minute for whatever reason.

Everyone is wanting signings all the time yet look at our record in recent years on players we've signed. There's been more miss than hit thats for sure.

I think we all want a competitive team - that is a blend of signings and younger players coming through the system. The lack of success with signing is down to two things:
1. The lack of talent in the UK game
2. The inability to attract top talent from the NRL

Developing youngsters is the only way forward - and the pool of talented youngsters decreases as the amateur game shrinks - tough spot to be in.

Actually Marty, having known both players since young, and seen both develop, I can contradict that. Corey is every bit as quick, and indeed unlike Clark actually has played wing a few times because of it.

That’s rubbish. We had that problem under McDermott, not under any other coach. McDermott is gone, you will see us back to normal.

Just a word on how Leeds have handled this - what's on our website is a crib of the Toronto announcement. No comment from anyone at Leeds, no thank you for your effort. This is a Grand Final winning player who we have effectively forced to leave mid-contract. Not even acknowledging his efforts is more than shoddy and unprofessional, it's out of order.

I agree with some on here that mullally was far from our worst player last season and on a certain level I would have been happy enough if he had been retained.

That said, we need to clear a number of players out to create cap space for 1 or 2 better quality players. If an offer acceptable to all parties has come in for mullally over other players such as cuthbo (if rumours are believed that he is on the list of players who can leave) then the club has to do what it thinks is right.

If we can free up enough space for a decent prop now and then with the likes of cuthbo and parcel off contract at the end of the year we should free up space for another prop or winger.

Shame for mullally but right call by the club.

Why disrespect "McDonut" . Like him or not, he's the most successful coach in the clubs' history and should be shown respect.

Probably just the timing. Usually it's the destination club that announces a signing and I don't think TWP did so until Friday evening. With it being the weekend, I suspect it'll be Monday before the usual suspects can be rounded up to give a statement on behalf of Leeds for release to the press over here.

Anyway GH & KS might be deep in talks with his replacement...

Yep does seem an odd one, Mullally always seemed well thought of in terms of attitude so strange not to say much from the club.

It's not strange, it's very poor from a club which even until very recently used to claim it always "did the right thing". People made excuses for the way Garbutt was treated. There is nothing in Anthony Mullally that has caused anyone any at the club any offence - other than perhaps him expressing his distaste, in his quite polite way, for being told he was being released mid contract and would never play for the club again.

Not going through the basic formalities of acknowledging what he has done for the club is appalling.
