Whilst we’ve obviously been not good enough this season, I think that shows the drawbacks of the current system.
In a 12 team league I don’t think the 9th places team should be in danger of relegation.

I think they should strip them of the preceding season's points as it was obviously an aberration.

| Quote ="Blocker75" IMO Toronto shouldn’t be considered, I couldn’t see the NRL allowing it, so why should we? It’s the European Super League, so let’s help them grow in their own continent.

The NRL clubs are spread far and wide, clubs will fly out to games several times a year when travelling between Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Townsville. None of those journeys are a short drive like the majority of m62 clubs we have.
In fact the NRL was originally a Sydney league, so North Queensland, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and New Zealand Warriors are all expansion clubs. The PNG Hunters also play in the Queensland Cup and a Fiji based team are set to be added to the New South Wales Cup.
Perhaps try watching this weeks RugbyAM as the episode is based in the city of Toronto to see what they have to offer. It’s on tonight at 5pm and repeated at various times.

Taken from Wikipedia
New Zealand is part of the microcontinent named Zealandia, therefore, strictly speaking it is not part of the seven continents.
While New Zealand is near the continent of Australia, it is not part of it.
Seriously though I doubt they would with Toronto or Jacksonville, however if rugby league became super popular in South Africa I could see a club being excepted.

Until someone beats them in a game that matters why should the Aussies take international rugby seriously. The biggest games in RL are clubs games - international RL is second rate.

New Zealand have won both the World Cup and Four Nations. Interesting stat ahead of the much anticipated test next month, Australia have never beaten Tonga.

Over the past 10 years what is the win/loss ratio v New Zealand? How long isit since we actually beat Australia - I rest my case.

| Whilst Salford may not have been happy with Hastings getting suspended, the fact is he's shown he can turn a bottom-end rabble into a half decent team. I'll be very surprised if he's not at one of the bigger clubs for next season.

Is there not a club in the NRL that would want him? As the semi showed having a half back like Reynolds who offers no running threat then its tough to score against a solid defence. Hastings offers that type of diverse attacking threat

I wouldn't be at all shocked if we signed Hastings, didn't he say in an interview that Sinfield was one of the guys he looks up to in RL?
He is a very good player IMO and I wish we had gone for him before the qualifiers.

| We only have room for Hastings if one of the current halfbacks (Myler, Lolohea, McLelland, Sutcliffe) either plays another position or leaves.
I don't really want to see Sutcliffe playing Centre because he's our goalkicker, and I'm pretty sure Furner will see it the same way. Myler has just been crowned PoTY, and McLelland is "first reserve" half.
I guess a lot will start to come out of the woodwork next week.

I think we should be going all out for Jackson, he has been superb both on and off the field. We know what he can do in SL where Lolohea is an unknown and every interview he gives seems to be an audition for us.
Not sure why Sutty cannot play centre if he is kicking, why would that make a difference and why would Furner feel the same?

| Simply because he has proven he can’t play Centre to the required standard. Being of the right standard should be more important than being able to kick goals.

Sutcliffe was very good at centre for the latter part of last year.
Goalkickibg will be Watkins job won’t it?
