Galloway stood up and was counted for me in a pathetic season allround and one to forget last year, i think him being JP's direct replacement led to some unfair criticsm at times.this year before injury he looked the part on a much steadier ship, such a shame he got injured when he did as he was really settling into being a pack leader.

If he has the determination to get over 2 snapped achiles, i think he deserves a chance next year to prove his worth one more time, just my opinion.

Suppose he'll be gone after next season regardless. I just don't rate him at all. But I don't rate Singleton or Mullally either.

Fair enough, yes probably only got a year left unless he does show up well and avoid injuries.

I don't really think Singleton and mullally are owt special either but i suppose you have to have some run of the mill squad fillers.we have always had them, kirke and Bailey.Mcdonald and Ward etc...

Mullally has shown up well with ball in hand, defensively needs to improve if he wants to stay in the 17 when everyone is fit next year.

I guess Mullally is in his first season as a first team player. Maybe I'm being a tad harsh on him. I guess he needs more time to show what he's got?

You also need to add Ormodroyd and JJB to that list too that is a lot of props something has to give

Delaney is not a legend - sinfield is a legend, McGuire is a legend, Delaney is a very average SL player who got lucky with the club he signed for

Cuthbertson will be starting 13 now, which is his best position.

That leaves 4 places in the matchday squad for the rest. Galloway is likely to miss the start of the season with his injury. If all are fit Oledzki will go on loan probably to Featherstone which is no bad thing for an 18 year old, who could replace Galloway in the 2019 starting team.

Delaney is a quality player who wholeheartedly bought into the club, literally pushing himself to and past breaking point. He probably deserves to be in the bracket just below legend where most overseas players and long serving players end up alongside the likes of Leuluai, Donald, Webb, Ali and Poching, L. Smith, Bailey, even Senior depending on what you think makes up a legend.

(Imo Webb, Ali and Senior belong in the top group but Delaney isn't exactly in bad company and you could argue because of time spent elsewhere and how webby in particular tailed off the don't belong in the same group as Kev et al).

I think mullally has improvement in him,smooth some edges with his play the ball,my hearts in my mouth every time he gets up to play it and a bit of work on defense and he could be a really good impact player,he's got what you cant coach or learn, natural size and power. I just dont see how singleton improves much from where he's at now which is an average prop. He's too lightweight imo,even the size he has put on over the years dosnt sit well on him.

I mean, really i can certainly see what Sal is saying official club legends(or All time greats) from this era would be Sinfield, JP, McGuire, Burrow and probably JJB. Then you have those that will be fondly remembered for their contribution like Delaney, Cuthbertson, Hardaker, Buderus, Bailey, Ali, Webb, Ablett etc... and of course some of those will be deemed legends by certain people who genuinely see them as that, which is fine.

from growing up between mid 80's and mid 90's I see the likes of ET, Lyons, Innes, Howard, Mercer, Iro as legends when in reality it was a time where we did nothing and the only genuine Leeds club legend s from the time were Schofield and perhaps Hanley although he was past his best for us.

I would have to include Ali and Senior in the same bracket as Danny and Rob and I'd also include Barry Mac. But drawing up a dwfinative list of who is and isn't a Leeds legend is a subjective, difficult, controvercial and ultimately futile task. So I won't start.

No idea about this guy but he is a good age and sounds fairly dynamic. Glad we are signing players in mid 20's with pace,. Parcell, Myler, Dwyer and this forward will help move the team in the right direction.
Think cuthbo, Galloway,Delaney , Ablett and JJB (assuming he goes around again) all out of contract at end of 2018. Cuthbo is key to how we play, the other 4 may all be going/retiring. So plenty of change to come.

If Ali Lauitiiti isn't a legend I don't know who is - best overseas signing of the summer era and the X factor in the first GF win in 2004.

yes sorry, Senior would be in for sure too and probably Ali as he has been arguably our best overseas recruit certainly in the modern era. i would say Morley, Harris and Barrie Mac from the mid 90's to start of our golden period, although again there are others who would be thought of highly . I know, i don't want to open a can of worms and as you say it is very subjective.

Back on topic, never heard of this guy. I hadn't heard of Garbutt either, so that might not mean much. He hasn't played much for the Titans even when they've been smashed by injuries, which is a bit of a worry but happy to get some new blood in the pack.

Ive gotta say Im a bit disappointed, he could be the next Cuthbertson but he could also be the next Ben Cross.

I dont get why we are taking risks with NRL signings when it looks like we could get Walmsley in 2018 (unless the these are made up rumours), surely we have space on our cap with Mags and Burrow leaving, as well as at least one marque player quota available.

Re the NRL, its down to economics. You won't get a star, so you could go for a plodder or take a punt. I'd say Galloway was in the plodder category. Going for a hit/miss option has worked before (Leuluai, Parcell) but also failed (Cross, Achurch).

As for Walmsley, where apart from on MBs is there any evidence he's available?

leeds seem to specialise on ' who?' signings that then have games that suit their way and style so i've no doubt he will be a good signing

I happen to think he'll be a good signing - having seen him play in the NRL, I think he'll look good in SL.

However, that piece reads like it's been written by a Leeds super fanboy.... When you read the stats/appearances, it doesn't make for great reading that he's going to be a star, but the author bigs him and Leeds up massively.
