The Tigers spine does look impressive like you say similar to Leeds all those years ago from players graduating up from the academy just like Tigers.
Penrith apparently have some good youngsters coming through too.
I have to say it is a pleasure to watch a number of the NRL games each week compared to the dross we serve up over here bar one or two exceptions.

Yeah, Penrith again have got a batch of young stars - Cartwright, Cleary and Moylan get most of the plaudits, but I really like the prop Leilani Latu... Big, quick, strong, runs great lines, good in defence and a ball player too.
Other than Leeds, I can't actually remember the last full Super League game I watched, the gulf in standards is alarming, and I think it's becoming even more evident with the youngsters coming through down there - our youngsters just don't seem anywhere near the same calibre, whether that be athletically or in terms of skill levels. Almost every NRL team seems to have 3 or 4 kids of around 20 years old that would be absolute superstars over here.

| Segs is as good as gone...latest reports from Oz are that at least 5 NRL clubs are chasing him. Let's hope Gawy is on the ball with this and is lining up a replacement.

| There's a young fullback for Canberra, yet to play first grade called Cotric. Absolutely destroyed England academy and looks the business, destined for big things.

| The pathways to first grade down there are clearly working much better than here - there's so many young kids coming through who come straight in and not only look the part, but are actually game breakers. The Trbojevic brothers (particularly Tom), Latrell Mitchell, Corey Oates, Jack Bird, Valentine Holmes, Milford, Ash Taylor, Lolohea... If I could be bothered, I could go on and on, there's literally dozens of potential superstars in the makings - we're miles away from producing any talent at that calibre.
It's worrying when you think back to the start of the year and Nikorima and Hastings ripped Saints apart and everyone was waxing lyrical about how good those two looked - and neither can get a game for the Roosters now!

| Replaced by Watson and Matterson who have been great.
Cleary at the Panthers is the best young half I've seen in a while.

| Pity we can`t get one of them over here.
Looking pretty bleak at the moment if we want to move up that SL table next year.

Indeed - Watson looks a cracking player, very much reminds me of Craig Wing.

| So, it appears from reports in Australia that Chicko has 2 weeks left to decide if he stays at Leeds next year - so there is a deadline on his clause to get out of next year for an NRL return.
It would be nice to see a response from those who've been berating GH for allowing an NRL clause that could leave us with no options if Chicko decides to walk 2 weeks before the season starts or at the last minute.... Clearly, GH ain't as stupid as some would like to make out!.

can't find anything myself online, and people are just going off what was suggested as TBH it has all been kept pretty quiet so going off that people are right to question what is happening. If what you say is true then hopefully he will stay with us. If not, then hopefully GH does have someone else lined up because it is still getting late in the day regards finding someone of sufficient quality. We will soon see.

So, basically, people will only be happy if GH gives them the full and frank details of the clause.... And if he did that, no doubt the same folk would complain and say 'why tell everyone when the deadline is, that's allowing rival clubs to know when they need to have their best offers in to Chicko by'
He can't win - people will moan regardless.

Thanks. I think (my view anyway) people were perplexed by the thought he was available anytime whenever an NRL club came knocking so bringing that down to just a two week window works far better and is welcomed...from me anyway

Agreed - I'm just saying what I reckon would be thrown at GH by the usual doom and gloom merchants.
With the success GH has brought to our club, some people really should give him a little more credit, he's certainly no mug as some people would suggest.

Again I agree - not helped by the fact we were expecting Farah, and that fell apart fairly late in the day.
Leeds and Wests had agreed terms (Wests paying a significant portion of his salary)
Leeds, Wests and his agent had agreed terms - Leeds & Wests given green light by agent
Wests signed Ballin as a replacement so confident were they the deal was agreed
Unfortunately, neither Wests or his agent cleared the deal with Farah
Farah didn't want to walk away from Wests or Origin, at that point Wests tried the old 'you'll be in reserve grade if you stay here' trick and it all kicked off
If Farah had arrived, I'd suggest we'd have had a much more fruitful season.

Spot on. I understand people are curious and want to know the exact details of everything that goes on at the club but you just have to be patient and wait and see. I don't see any reason/benefit to putting information regarding contracts/potential signings/departures out in the public domain before they're finalised other than to please some fans curiosity.

The very fact he has been so good makes it more frustrating when we end up with garbage like Falloon & Achurch.
If you set the highest of standards in any kind of work/walk of life you will rightly be called out when those standards drop especially as they have in 2016.
That's not been ungrateful that's how it works & if as you say he is no mug then we'll see the significant improvements needed.
I dont think he is a mug but imo he like the Coach & Team have fallen way below the required standard for a club our size.

For such a key position its amazing we have got by so well since 2011 when Buderus moved on. We have had McShane who never really fitted in. Lunt as a chance punt that came off for half a year, Aiton who ran hot through his last year but injured for key periods then the disaster that was Faloon. Burrow trying his best throughout of course. It is position we quite clearly have to get right and get some stability in from now or the team will not be able to get back to a position of strength again, we can't afford to be taking any more punts at the 11th hour and end up with mugs like Falloon. At least now we should know where we stand come September/ October.
