What?
You can't actually be saying you would prefer Hanbury or Gigot or Jowitt

| A year or two playing full back could help sutcliffe to become a better stand off later in his career. Will give him a broader experience. John Holmes, Shaun Edwards and Iestyn turned out as pretty useful. Lockyer was OK as well.

| Somebody mentioned Hanbury, impresses me every time I see him. Cracking attacking player.

Hanbury is a million miles ahead of what we have. Have you watched outside of Leeds? And yes I would also have Jowitt also, who looks destined for big things.

You don't half over exaggerate with your constant "million miles".
"They are/he is a million miles ahead of what we are/have"
"We are a million miles behind them"
"We are a million miles away from being competitive"
Do you know how far a million miles actually is? You're like a numerically dyslexic Proclaimer.

Apologies numbers are not your strong point, I forgot about the previous stats history. A million miles is a saying, and just for you, means a long way. Therefore the statement stands correct, in my opinion. Hope that makes things clearer. As you were.

Even a year or two would help him, as he could develop his skills with significantly less pressure.
Look at Micheal Morgan, who imo has a very similar playing style

| If you seriously think Max Jowitt or Tony Gigot are "a million miles" ahead of Sutcliffe, then there's really no point trying to have a sensible discussion about rugby league

| Gigot is a better centre than he is a 1.
Jowitt is a solid prospect, but even in his short time there Sutty has looked as good if not better.
As others have said Hanbury is good but if I recall he also started out as a 6 when he first came over and took at least a year to settle into the 1 spot.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Gotcha's closeness to Hardaker and not liking someone else doing well in his position in his absence

Are either of those called Hanbury? Not sure what the point of your post was.

| If it were a plan, I'd probably look to have him full back for a year or so then move to 6. He's got all the skills needed for either role, just not the game management for 6 yet (unless he was outside a quality 7).
In any event I hope there is some sort of plan beyond waiting to see what Hardaker does/doesn't do for next year. Ditto Segeyaro.

why can't they play sutty in the same way Wigan play Williams, where he is only really used when in attacking positions, using a matty smith type half to gain field position

| I think next season will be make or break for him. Sadly it's where to play him best that is the current problem with our squad balance.
Will he get game time at FB if Zak returns? We have aplethora of HBs...none able to do the role we are missing, He seems abit too small to play the modern loose role.
It's good having cover for FB,HB and LF but I think he has the ability to be more than a utility player from the bench.

| I think it would be ideal for him to play a couple of season at fullback. Where he doesn't have the pressure of overall organization and creativity but can chime into attack. That will allow him to really effectively develop certain attributes which will benefit him if then moving up to halfback in a few seasons. We should remember he only made his debut in 2013 making a few appearances, in 2014 he played abit more in the team but then last year he seemed to be really coming on until the injury.
Even so, because of the likes of sinfield and mcguire when he did play he was still basically filled that role of chiming into the attack. I think this is the way forward for him now, but the hardaker situation could put a spanner int he works.
