He was brutal. He let Dixon endure 80 minutes.

good for you. Not trying to patronise you at all, i'm sure all you Wakey fans envisaged being in this position when Brian Smith walked a few months back

You could have put Wayne Bennett in charge of Hull KR, they still wouldn't have won.

The comment I recall from a visiting Wakey fan on here (I only look at this board so can't have been elsewhere) was that they couldn't see Wakefield winning a game all season.
Hands up - I didn't find it an outrageous thing to say anymore than if someone now says Leeds won't win another game before the split.

fully agree, the performance trend of recent weeks could very well see that scenario play out. There is only Widnes and Salford at home i can see us winning right now but they aren't a given by any means.

| What Chris Chester has at the moment at his disposal is a confident and healthy squad with competition for places...and despite some of the arrogant comments we are a lot better (on paper) aswell as grass, than a lot of people think...

Looks like it didn't take a few more months.

| Its not just speeches, its changes to training, gameplan, selections etc. Motivational speeches are vastly overrated IMO.
Chester (as many others before him) does show the danger in going overboard because a new coach seems to be getting amazing results and then assuming they can continue to do so for the long term (see the history of coaches at the Warriors for how badly this approach usually ends). That's why if I were to replace BM this season I'd deliberately put a short-term coach in place, making it clear they are only here for the rest of the year, or possibly one full season afterwards - but definitely no 3/4 year deal from the off. I'd guess BM's current 'contract for life' is exactly that sort of deal - there will be no guarantee he can't be dumped at short notice, regardless of what GH says.
