Not really. It would have been had he not then been 18th man for the game, as the birth was delayed. Garbutt, unfortunately, on the other hand was completely left out, and dropped due to performance. Let's see if Singleton is back on Thursday, me personally at a ground like Cas, I would have Garbutt back too.

| I would agree with most that we need the best team possible against the Tigers. Hopefully Briscoe and Mags are back, I would give Delaney until Monday. As for the Wakey game most will expect some rotation, is it needed though Bar Ferris (who deserves a rest) who else needs a break. With all the injuries we've had most of the squad have already had time off. Some off the backs have played every game but don't need spelling as much as the pack, I can think only of Galloway that has played every game.
Wakey could be a banana skin as although losing played well last week and need respect.

Silverwood screwed with my life when he was appointed ref for the WCC game against the Cowboys. I knew from that moment on that Leeds wouldn't get a fair go and lose. I no longer wanted to go after that. But I'd bought a bloody ticket!
Been stuck in a mindset of unconscious complacency about the game ever since whilst continuing to drown in November floods of tears over the utter pointlessness of four SL games out of six.

You would expect Hall and Delaney to miss out, At least they can be covered with Briscoe and Jimmy coming back. Hope Mags is fully fit as we have missed him big time. Are Mitch and Singo still on the Naughty step with Achurch Featherstone's team could make interesting reading this wknd, or are they being kept back for the Wakey game???????

Are we sure that them 2 have been dropped?
Had a look at the stats from wigan and they missed the same amount of tackles as Galloway and Garbutt ran for over 100 meters
They certainly wouldnt be the players Id drop...

| There is plenty to see here Garbutt only played 1 of last four so certainly not in need of rest and Singleton probably our best forward up to Wigan game , can only be a fall out with Mac in my eyes

Yea but its not as if we blew saints away, we were good for 10 mins and then clung on, we also conceded 8 line breaks iirc, all of them down the middle, so its not as if the forwards from last week did so well
I wonder if there was some incident we havnt heard about...
Mcdermott has a history of this, for example he decided to pick Kirke and Bailey over singleton in the 2014 CC final even though he was in much better form. I think we we're lucky that Singlton didnt jump ship at that point as he would easily get a game at Wigan imo
As for changing the coach...
Mac does continue to make seemingly the same mistakes over and over again, the major ones being the interchange policy of using one sub in the first half and sometimes having a pointless unused man despite a tired pack, as well as a lack of faith in youth (is there anyone to make their debut under him not through injury except ward?) and not enough willingness to develop and give game time to promising young players, as well as the odd selections at times
Even though he has been successful you have to question if he has underachieved, namely in our league finishes, being 5th,5th,3rd,6th,1st, and us already looking like we will need to fight to make top 4
BUT, given the trophies he has won it would be disrespectful to sack him, although I would be tempted to change coach if someone like Powell or Betts or in a dream scenario Trent Robinson became available at the end of the year
Its possible that some of these flaws could be fixed by a strong willed assistant, someone who he trusts would be ideal, maybe try to tempt JP back? or take Senior off the Shefield eagles? or even give it to someone currently playing like Burrow who has managed the academy side?

| the guy has had half of his team missing for the first couple of months alongside tough fixtures which we would do well to win with a full side, and just lost his 2 talismen the season before, cut him a bit of slack for goodness sake and judge him in a few months when we have had a few full teams out and things settle. i certainly don't think he should be free from criticism or should have a job for life but he has earned at least this season before calling for his head in my eyes.

The club's most successful coach in history and fans are suggesting a replacement 5 months after winning every trophy in sight. FFS! Which coach would consider joining such a patient and considerate club? Mac's outstanding past successes gives him loads of time in the bank to turn around a season that was always going to be one of transition and evolution.

I wouldn't if I was Achurch either. Does seem to be very poorly treated that guy, regardless of opinions of him. Even with the poorest opinions he is still leagues above Walters as a player.

| The continued selection of Walters is baffling.
Noticed Singleton's other half has just had a baby, so whether that's the reason he's missed out the last couple of weeks I don't know. Certainly wasn't the worst of the props on show at Wigan, but then again neither was Garbutt.

reading between the lines Leeds tried to offload him and he dug his heels in so has fallen out of favour. He has probably only played a couple this season due to our injuries Can't blame Achurch for looking out for himself, but now players are coming back i don't see him in a Leeds shirt again.

If you actually read the post, most of those points have nothing to do with our early season form, which I am optimistic will turn around
If Lilly had kicked in our first match (which was admittedly ultimately Macs call) we would have won all our home games
The problems are deeper than that
Can you explain why he isnt pick Singleton or Garbutt over Walters or Galloway?
