Yep, that's my recollection too. Compared to 2010 there was a huge improvement, and I was disappointed to see him go.

I watched Mossop in his very limited time at the eels and whilstn his mobility is a plus, he's not physically imposing enough for me (he was the poorest of England's prop options at the world cup for that reason). He also dropped a couple of clangers for the eels, but given his rustiness due to injury perhaps that's to be expected. Add in his injury issues and I wouldn't be bothered if he goes elsewhere.

Barring JJB, Bailey and Ablett the "academy production line" has very rarely produced the calibre of forward similar to the ones we have brought in from elsewhere . The forwards production line, especially the props is more like a merry-go-round.

Tom Burgess isn't average at all. He's a standout in the NRL, regularly making big yards. He doesn't have quite the dynamism of George, but it speaks volumes that in general play Souths don't miss a beat when he comes on for his brother. He's also effectively a year behind George in his development.

Luke OTOH looked OK at the end of last year but desperately average this year even before his injury (although its possible he had a problem reducing his effectiveness).

Was rumoured to be Mossop but given no further news or comment by the club as to whether this took place and who it was, IF it was Mossop, I can only speculate that the lack of news is due to the fact that he failed his medical due to his two serious shoulder injuries the last 12 months.

Had the medical gone OK then surely the signing would have been announced by now and this morning at the shirt launch would have been the perfect opportunity
