| Quote ="chapylad"Yes great performance with the defence superb.
Cas 2nd try came from a forward pass and I thought here we go again.
McGuire MOM even though Halls two tries were sublime.
All the backs played their part so did the forwards and the subs.
Kirke was Kirke and did not do too much.
But it is hard to be critical of anyone today.
For those who think Clarke should get MOS well they should be ashamed of themselves.
Also same goes for Lynch. Did he play today?
Well done Leeds.
Now if only we had beaten London and Bradford.....'"
Thought JP should have got MOM, but Halls finishes where he had no right to score won the game.
Kirke was kirke. Dont remember him taking the ball, but he was in pretty much every tackle when Cas had the ball

Felt sorry for Kirke today got about 10 mins game time, and that's not allot even for him, so don't know if he got a knock or not or just not used much, gets a lot of stick bordering on hatred Kirke and really does not deserve it.

| Hardaker - superb. Cleaned up everything at the back with ease and helped start our sets off going forward.
Briscoe - very good. Took his try well, along with others made big efforts when returning the ball and to get us rolling forward.
Watkins - at fault for Cas' 2nd try but worked hard all game and looked dangerous every time he had the ball. Along with the other 3/4's helped get our sets going forward.
Moon - like Watkins looked dangerous whenever he had the ball.
Hall - awesome. Both his tries and his carries. Worlds Best Winger. Morris Shmorris.
Sinfield - Sinfield at his best. Controlled the game completely. Calm. Composed. When Sinfield's kicking the goals from the sidelines we always do well.
McGuire - Brilliant. Sinfield, McGuire & Burrow proved how good they still are. Completely controlled Cas. Took the line on a lot more and looked much more dangerous.
Leuluai - big runs, big tackles, intimidating to the opposition. I bloody love Kylie. Proper prop.
Burrow - looked back to his best. Decent distribution from DH and his runs, whilst not breaking through, caused havoc in Cas defence and helped us play the game where we wanted to.
Peacock - please don't retire. Please.
JJB - Adds some speed to our back row and helps our front row out. Takes our defensive line up very quickly. His work was unspectacular, but vital for Leeds. Kind of sums up JJB.
Ablett - had a bit of a quiet game but I thought that was due partly to our tactics. Still looks dangerous near the line. 5m out give the ball to Ablett. Worked very hard in defence.
Delaney - Machine. Defends like a backrower, runs it in like a prop.
Aiton - didn't get that long but when he came on added some spark and energy at a period when we were lacking that a little bit. Ran well from dummy half and tackled well.
Sutcliffe - didn't get long but like Aiton that's because our plan A was working so well. If we'd needed something different he might have provided it.
Bailey - I still don't think he does enough, if you're not going to run in hard or tackle hard like Leuluai or Peacock then you've got to be watertight in defence, and he isn't. Not 1st man in enough and can be lazy in defence, gets stepped too easily.
But did alright yesterday and helped give Peacock a break.
Kirke - whilst, like Bailey, I don't think he does enough, I thought he was much better yesterday. Especially in defence where, despite limited minutes, he was flying in in defence and put a couple of big hits in.
Everyone played their part yesterday. It was a Leeds Grand Final performance and was very pleasing to see we can still do that.
If we play like that we'll be very, very difficult to beat in the playoffs.

| Just wanted to say well done Rhino's, best team won. Dissapointed Cas didn't show what they can do. But that was more to do with how you controlled the game, iwas glad you finally managed to break your hoodoo. you could see how much it meant to sinfield and the team. well done again from a cas fan.

| Very Well Done Leeds. Great tactics won you the game pinning us back more a less every set. Your defence was just too good also which has been the case all year. You need to get behind Brian Mc because his tactics won you The game.
Spoke to some Leeds fans on the 21.00 from Victoria. Good chat and no trouble. Well done again. Very deserves winners.

| I lost my Grandad in January and he had been a lifelong Leeds RL fan and he would always ask me when would we get the Challenge Cup as Super League we always had our hands on!
8 months after his passing I cried my heart out at the hooter yesterday as it seemed so ironic we had finally won it.
Great display. Sinfield leadership was sublime, McGuire almost 2004 esq. Burrow creating havoc. Hardaker taking every ball that came in his direction with ease and Ryan Hall being a monster! As for JP, that guy is just a legend!
As for Castleford. The first 20 minutes shook them up big time. There fans were mainly class apart from a couple of numpties starting on a 15 year old of our group but otherwise a fantastic day

| My condolences for your loss.
My own dad is approaching 90 years young and is a life time fan and a 30 year season ticket holder until his health precluded him sitting in the stands.
I am so glad he got to see a win again at Wembley.
Also great to see my old mate Billy Watts on the pitch at 91 years young.

| Quote ="Towns88"What a moronic comment suggesting people should be ashamed for saying Clark (no e) should get man of steel. He's been class this year. Fact.
Not at all moronic.
All these people jumping on the Clark sorry no e bandwagon touting him for MoS.
Yes he has been good far better than what we have and the best hooker in SL.
But come on MoS no chance.
JP by a country mile.
Clark only plays 30/40 minutes a game anyway.
Thoroughly enjoy watching Cas play but feel there's no comparison with JP for MoS this year.
Yes might be a bit OTT to say people should be ashamed of themselves in hindsight.

I've really got to praise the Cas supporters. Every single one I met was friendly and approachable. I didn't see any trouble and the atmosphere was friendly everywhere! Best final I've been to for years (regardless of result or teams playing as I've been to a few as a neutral) and it's down to both sets of fans getting along with each other rather than getting p|ssed and looking for a fight.

| Well done Leeds you fully deserved your win. Cas didn't play badly but they couldn't cope with the Leeds machine.
So now it is " wet sponge time"! If you want to know what that means just ask loiner 81.

I too didn't see any trouble but on the way home yesterday we called in at Donnington services and the lad that worked at WH Smiths was telling us that the police were called out on Saturday evening after a Cas fan smacked a Leeds supporter, completely unprovoked.
Just outside the entrance to the services there was what seemed to be blood stains on the floor.
Does anyone know any more?

| To the left of the tunnel there was a large group in yellow t-shirts and some of them were kicking off about 5 minutes from F/T saw the stewards wade in etc but other than the odd "we all hate Leeds s#*m" on the way to the game had some good banter with the Cas lot.

Well I both agree with you chapylad and also take issue with you regarding the Man of Steel. I agree fully with your point that Peacock should get it, no danger but your views on Clarke are somewhat misguided. Yes he only generally plays 40 mins or so, but that is all part and parcel of the game. Making them as potent as possible. Impact players are an important part of the game nowadays and if you are only going to include players that play the full eighty then that means that impact players cannot win it. Burrow is another brilliant player, but would he still be as brilliant if he played the full eighty at hooker rather than interchanging with Aiton. This season yes Clarke has only been playing 40 or so, but over those forty minutes he has largely been devastating, which he would not have been half as much if he was playing the full 80.
On Saturday he had to play around 65 to 70 minutes, which obviously nullified his attacking threat. Furthermore Leeds brilliant tactics and defence allied to the fact that not one of our forwards made a clean break or had any go forward, meant it was virtually impossible for him to show his attacking threat. When that happens the hallmark of a quality player is can he do the other nitty grittty side of the game well. Well he certainly did, because he made 37 tackles in the game, missing only the one and that is a phenomenal effort over around 65 minutes, over one tackle every two minutes. He was easily our top tackler and his carry rate was just as impressive although he made no breaks, the reason already explained. If you watch the game again his defence was awesome and without it, we would have got beat much easier. Furthermore his defence all year has been awesome, there is far far more to him than his silky running skills. There is more to RL than making breaks.
Clarke is a worthy contender and listen to the players of all clubs themselves, the ones that know and they all mention him, including the great man himself Jamie Peacock, who only the other week on the SL show, said that DC was teriffic and was one of his 3 selections for it.
However I agree that JP should get it, as he has been absolutely more than awesome this year.
