I think it is a shame that he CC isn't drawing the interest. The CC was always the way non-league people outside the the M62 corridor got their dose of RL on the BBC. In a lot of ways it still is. Sky has presented the game very well on TV, but the BBC upped their game some years ago and (if they could somehow get shot of "Jiffy"icon_wink.gif arguably do the better job now. Especially as the Eddie and Stevo show is looking very, very tired now.
Superleague sounds like something a marketing guy thought up (probably because it is) wheras the CC has a huge weight of tradition, history and authenticity. But I guess, much like the FA Cup, it's been relegated to a sideshow.
You still can't beat a good cup tie though, knockout rugby has delivered the best games over the years. I think if you were to ask me my top 10 Leeds games, 8 or 9 of them would be knockout games. CC, JP Trophy and playoff. It would probably be the same for 10 worst.
