| I'm sure it's just pure coincidence that Hood never played for the Rhinos first team ever again after the incident with the senior player.
I'm sure it's just pure coincidence that Hood was considered to have an extremely bright future but suddenly considered nowhere near good enough for the club after the incident with the senior player.
I'm sure it's just pure coincidence that the form of McShane and Burrow just happened to be so brilliant throughout the 2013 season that Hood's first team opportunities were thusly so limited.

| Whenever I saw him play for Hunslet last season he did little to indicate that he had even a 10th of the ability needed to make an impression at Leeds. He was also very poor for Dewsbury during his time there. Simply not good enough, that's why he was released.

| Quote ="Rastrick Rhino"Ryan Bailey is one of my fav players always has been, That being said He did act like an ar5e the night in question. In a nutshell- Showing off in front of some people he was trying to impress, picking on a junior member of the squad who had asked him to pack it in, Ryan carried on and got laid out with one punch.
There had been a lot of drink involved and was forgotten about pretty quickly after.
PM me if you want full details. But it isn't the big deal people are making it out to be, I only put this on because some posters seem to think it was behind him getting released.'"
Something similar happened in London after the Wigan v Leeds Wembley final in 2011. Again he was picking on some of the young players but I am told that Jack Hughes put him on his backside

He's probably playing half heartedly after been badly done to at Leeds. With the right support, there's a chance Liam Hood could have been a sensation in his position but he was never given a proper opportunity in the form of a decent run of games in the first team. At least Paul McShane had that chance.
A very similar situation would be Jamie Shaul who apparently didn't perform too well at York but went on to do pretty well for Hull FC in 2013. Some players just respond better in a more professional environment - maybe that's what Hood needs.

| I've heard that after reading a scathing critique from Bails about her performance in Spamalot, Bonnie Langford took great exception and laid out TMFMISL with one punch!
Don't ya just love anecdotal nonsense?
PS Never saw Hood do anything to suggest he was good enough at SL level. The fact that an under-par McShane and Robbie kept him out seems indicative that the management didn't think he was good enough either. Good Luck to the kid. Hope he does a Jimmy Lowes and comes back to haunt us, but I doubt it.

That young winger of yours, who hasn't made it, tells a different story..... about how Bailey and JJB wanted to 'go' against half a dozen of them.

Then he deserves the career he gets.
Youngsters with "promise" are just that, they are not guaranteed to develop into top class senior players. If he'd been good enough he would have got his chance. It's a sad excuse to blame other factors, true, there are players who have not had the best of luck coming up, injuries at critical times, being at the back of the queue in a position at a club etc. However, there's more than one club in the competition and there are plenty of kids who have been shown the door to go to other clubs and really do the business.
In fact with the salary cap and the limited senior squad size clubs can run young players should actually expect to play senior rugby at a club other than the one they play academy rugby at. It's pretty clear that a junior signing for a SL club is highly unlikely to graduate to the senior side at the same club.

Which winger, and it's certainly not what I was told.

Forgot his name. Ryan? Maybe? He made the comments on his social network.
