| I noticed that guy who coaches the England Rugby Union team said that he was in his plans when interviewed after the game on Saturday. More muddled thinking.

I don't know what was going on at Bath but if it was an LV cup game then he may be rightly feeling he's suddenly a 2nd class citizen at his club as well. I'Ce seen him at Bath, he' been patient and played a team role.
Would I take a chance on him at Leeds? Absolutely. His pace and passing make are as good as ever. The main doubt I would have would be his fitness. He seems awfully injury prone at the moment.
Who would you drop? I think it's obvious.'"

This is a troll, right?
The RFL should not be supporting the recruitment or retention of any single player by any of its member clubs

Has he got any tattoos on his little toe? I hope all this talent you see manifests itself into the kind of acheivements Burrow has done because, right now, it simply hasn't and it's little more than yet another outlandish statement on your part unsupported by any actual events.
Anyway, to the point, there are red flags. The most concerning to me is not the questions of his attitude but the frailty of his body. His league career ended with a prolonged injury and it appears his union career is plagued by the same.
He's certainly worth taking a look at but hardly worth breaking the bank for.

Dunno about that. You've read how divided the posters on here are. Word of mouth is hardly going to provide a hard sell to the wider Leeds public, from whom this mooted increase in gate money will presumably come. IMO the only way that would happen would be if we were to sign an undisputed great of the game, e.g. SBW. Eastmond falls well short of that description.

I would say you need to relent with the boring achievements thing, and start recognising players for talent instead. A player can only win what his team win, doesn't mean it is down to one player. Are you really suggesting Kirke as an example is better than Paul Gallen, just because he has some bling on his fingers?
I said he had more talent in his little toe because what Burrow is, is a brilliant open field runner, Eastmond is very much his equal at that and better. What Eastmond also has is a great passing game, Burrow has a poor passing game. What Eastmond has is a very good kicking game, Burrow has a poor kicking game. The lad may well have a personality which raises concerns, but talent isn't an area that should be overlooked.

| Talent wise he has all the attributes ,I am not certain about his commitment and attitude , he went out to Argentina with England and had a good tour.
The England coach Lancaster spoke of giving him a game with the full england team, who knows if he applied himself he could feature in the next rugby union World Cup .
Yet he seems to be unsettled ,he probably is destined to be one of those players who will never be happy.
So methinks we can do without him.

It is entirely true. How many players have played one verses 13 on the oppossition and won?
Even man of match awards are a lottery anyway. I was watching the Australia v USA match on Saturday and the new zealand commentator when Brett Morris got MOM questioned it, and alluded that british media have an obsession with highlights and number of tries scored, rather than what other players brought to a game consistently. They said it on the back of Morris getting four tries, because he did very little else in the match. They were correct, and commented that Hayne had three tries and set up two and had the better game. Then what happens, last minute Hayne gets another so ends up with four, which highlighted their point perfectly.

| In terms of comparing Burrow to other winners, if I remember correctly isn't he the only person to win it unanimously. All 30 odd judges voted thet he won it in 2011, not done before, not done since.

Burrow has acheived individual accolades within a team environment. Two Harry Sunderland trophie, man of the series for GB. Those are things talented individuals can do within a team. In fact, really talented individuals can do it, even if the team loses. Leeds players hold a couple fo Lance Todd Trophies in such circumstances.
It's real life demonstrable examples of a players talent as opposed to subjective overstated opinions of a players talents.
Quote Are you really suggesting Kirke as an example is better than Paul Gallen, just because he has some bling on his fingers?'" I think it's patently obvious that i was stating no such thing.

This is what would bother me. He struggled for a lot of last season and for the beginning of this one with injuries. Has a very delicate set of knees at the moment.

He is most likley to be earning more or in the same range as our top players, 100K+ at Bath + the England contract, also in the 100k+ range, plus lot of other incentives and sponsorships we dont see for most RL players..... We could not afford him and and would be surprised if any club good "honestly" complete with that either....Staying in Union or maybe NRL....he has the talent

That would depend how unhappy he was. I wouldn't stay in a job I didn't like on £200k if I could get £120k doing something I loved.
I think he'll stay in RU though, and I think he'll play at 12/13 in the world cup.
If he did come back at a sensible price every club in RL would be interested. He has real star quality. I imagine before making offers anybody would want to talk to him to see where his head and heart are. Motivated and happy we could find a place for him somewhere. There'd be some juggling to do before Burrow and McGuire retired, but it's a selection headache you'd love to have.

Classy.
Whether Wigan were lucky or not is neither here nor there. He scored one of the great Wembley tries. I also recall a length of the field interception for England against the Exiles at Headingley. Do you remember that or were you too busy booing his brother at the time?
He is a dual code international - hardly 'useless'.

But would you take that job if it halved your salary and impacted the lifestyle you'd become accustomed to (don't think £200k-£120k, think more like £40k-£20k or £30k-£15k)? I know my missus for one would be concerned.

£120k is a lot of money. £15k isn't. So not the same.
