Nothing you can do about injuries, upwards and onwards to next season

Of course you can do something about injuries. You rest and recuperate until fit to do otherwise. When not fully fit don't compound the problem further by taking risks.

I'm currently out with a broken ankle. I don't like been off work, so I was in a couple of days after injury. I had a knock back, and have added a couple of weeks onto my recovery at this stage. Like McDermott I was stupid.

The only real injury worry there was McGuire and he was on the bench. Would have given a good account of themselves and given JJB, Delaney and Watkins a week to try to get right.

Last night wasn't the issue. I have stated it continually all year, whilst blind ignorance muppets argued otherwise. McDermott pushed players beyond what they should have been pushed earlier in the season, mainly Easter. Because of that fatigue set in early aiding the onset of injuries. The way Delaney has been handled has been shocking.

The coaches desire, as he has no other ideas, to have his same preferred seventeen players every week, has led to situations that may well have not developed had he managed the squad properly. You only have to look at the two Grand Finalists to see how it should work, one of which already won the other domestic trophy.

To compound this further he has continually proven he will go further than poor squad management, by even taking risks in actual game day management.

That is my problem with it, not just last night. Last night can always be said to be hindsight, because it's one match, although having so many busted is a bad gamble. But what isn't hindsight, is when it has been clear all season, and right in front of everyone's eyes. Last night at some stage was always going to be the consequence of that.

You are wrong with most of your predictions so why do you constantly feel the need to call people names just because they have a differing opinion to yours?

I'm just struggling to understand why someone who sits behind a keyboard would know more about the condition of the Leeds Rhinos squad than someone who
a) is clearly respected by the squad
b) has a team of physios/scientists/doctors around him continually assessing the squad
c) works with said squad on a daily basis
d) has the constraints of a salary capped sport & a very tight ceo

As Wigan/Wire will find in 2014, being champions carries a big weight. Not only the wcc to get 'up' for at such an early stage in the season but also that every team wants to beat you. We've carried that mantle so often & so well in recent times. In a crazy kind of way I'm glad we can go back into the chasing pack next year. I guess I'm a glass half full kind of person

No because he was quite clear in telling me to stay off until I felt right. Can't blame someone for that. Nor is his role to ensure I am right for a certain time of year. I am important all year

What would have done to prevent Wards injury?

That's actually a good come back, so I will congratulate you on it. I would say playing the wrong role was contributory, but that's a different discussion really.

But seriously, are you suggesting we didn't win anything this year because of Wards injuries? What about all the other injuries? Ward was a good point, but Delaney, JJB, Kylie, were examples of the opposite.

What do you think caused those injuries, why do you think that, and what could have been done to prevent them?

I don't think flogging the players in necessarily the issue. For me I think Leeds needed mcguire, jjb and delaney to be fit to win the title. They came back too early in order to get match fit but clearly still injured. I doubt we have won if we had 3 of our top players missing.
