| Quote ="tvoc"What makes you think facing Leeds won't just be an extension to that run of soft opponents?'"
It may well occur.
But I fancy Leeds would have been satisfied with 2 out of 4 points for the Saints/Wigan games, so there will be a strong focus in getting the result on Sunday (to avoid 3 defeats on the spin) .....at an event which they can pull rabbits out of the hat. No love lost between the 2 teams so I'd fancy Leeds' patched up pack will be up for it.
We've also done the business in the last 2 meetings, Wigan run-away leaders at the moment, strong favourites etc. I'll take that.
Just a thought.

| Re the two points from four I said the exact same thing prior to the Saints game on here but I also noted that Monday represented by far the best opportunity to get them and for twenty minutes it was a non-contest as Saints had failed to show up, just a matter of whether Leeds would win by a big margin or a embarrassingly (for SL) big margin.
It'd be crazy to write off any teams chances completely - as Saints showed in the final hour at Headingley on Monday- you can't do that in sport, it'll all be decided on the day and Leeds have a fighter's chance with a proud, unblemished record in this unique annual event.
Does that mean I expect a Leeds win on Sunday - sadly I don't and at the moment and I fear Hull will be firm favourites to extend Leeds' unwanted losing streak to four the following week. But that's just me.

Don't think either team can expect to win. But I have a feeling it won't be a damp squib......or squid.

I'd have stuck to your original guns tvoc.
Chances are a way of life for anything. There is a chance of someone winning the lottery this weekend, or somebody getting to poke Cheryl Cole.
These are always high odds. Leeds winning this weekend is equally as high. Without props to match Peacock, and the woefull form of our half backs and hooker, I would give you a better chance of winning the lottery this weekend than Leeds winning.

Well she's not a nun, so she will be getting blasted.
By the way are lottery tickets available to buy to have a go, to have a 'chance'?
On related sleeze: jennifer aniston has a new movie out. I'm sure it blows. But she plays a stripper and looks smoking.......

You don't work for a bookie do you?
I know you're a natural pessimist, but your suggested odds of 13,800,000:1 are the longest I've ever seen in a sporting event.
Would you take a 1 pound bet from me at those odds? Allowing for the chances of a draw, and giving you a huge margin as bookie, I'll offer you 1:200,000 on a Wigan win in reciprocation.
Unless you were just being outrageously over-pessimistic of course.

I'm Just glad I am not here this weekend and next to witness the embarrasement.
I will be thinking of you though if you wish, sunning myself for the next two weeks.
I prefer the odds on poking Cheryl Cole anyway.

| OK, silly question from
Why are Leeds playing in an alternative kit and Wigan in their primary kit?
Won't there be some kind of clash here?

I thought that as well, seems common sense that we would play in our home strip.

I'm not altogether comfortable with you thinking about me while you're on your sun lounger. Especially if you've just been thinking about Cheryl Cole. We barely know each other.

They are probably saving Tomkins for the harder games against proper opposition.

| Shock and horror same 19 named again.
Delaney with a crocked shoulder, Moore who played for Hunslet on Thursday and Vickery retaining his place.
Probably Singleton for Moore and McShane out again even though he should be a shoe in instead of Burrow or McGuire.

I could see Sutcliffe being 'dropped' and McShane coming off the bench again.

Yes he has had his 10 minute of fame and the tick in the box for grooming yet another academy player goes on the list.
I see we are getting 10 start with the bookies on Sunday.
