I also hope its a success. The lad probably gets more on benefits than my crappy part time wage. (Luckily I get the chance to across the country to earn overtime). I along with the majority on here after pay taxes, and for the likes of people like Damo.

He knows there are jobs at my work, but he his determined to go down this route. Hope he becomes a successful businessman, because I am sure one day he will realise he can't continue getting in the papers, getting publicity and still been on the dole.

Anyway if you do need a job, give me a shout, there are a fair few jobs going around at the minute.

I have told you on more than one occasion I will send you it through internet banking. Appearing at my work and asking for it when I sit in a box with money all day is not the time for me to give you it.

In the time you've been on this board chap, a certain other poster has run around in a dragon costume, washed smelly kit, driven thousands of miles, flown hundreds of hours, packed a good secure job in, learned a new language, learned how to write, raised money for charity, bought and maintained a small business, worked all the hours that God sends and you know what? He's still got time for the odd curry.

In fact I find it very difficult to understand how you have the gall to complain about overcoming adversity on a thread moderated by one of life's true survivors.

Nick Clegg has his flaws I agree like any human being. But he's spent a good proportion of his life trying to make things better as all politicians have.

Thanks for the support ryano but we know most of the comments on here are fuelled by jealousy. I have the potential to do better than all my critics on here put together and damn right I'm going to fulfil it!

The mods have a choice. Clean this thread up so the only thing that’s left is the original post, lock it and put it as a sticky for a week or two. Alternatively you can leave the thread as it is and I’ll show each and every critic of mine up for what they are and will provoke a reaction which will no doubt be enjoyable to read – that could come at the end of the day when I’ve finished doing more important things. Either way I’m sure you’ll come to a right decision even if you decide a third way.

But I’d much rather be on a nicer RLFANS where me and my critics mind each other’s business and stay out of each other’s way. Both Tad and LTID have posted threads about raising money for charity and I could give them a much harder time than what they’ve given me on my ‘make society a better place’ threads in recent times. But I’m not like them two unless I really get provoked.

Finally I’m convinced there’s a deep rooted jealousy by some on here because at least people comment on my threads and some openly support what I’m doing on these same threads alongside all the criticism I get. These two don’t even get that.

I don't know anything about Damo's (un)employment history so I can't really comment on his situation, but someone being on the dole doesn't necessarily make them a sponger, and there being vacancies at a workplace doesn't necessarily mean that an individual will be able to get a job there.

Bearing that in mind it might be worth looking at the article in the YEP.

Companies are tightening up, people are working all hours, and prices for everything are going up. People then have to pay taxes and it in turn goes to people who I quote "will be spending £50 on cocktails".

You haven't really ever worked a proper days work in your life. Can you not understand why posters on here get fed up at you? Especially when a fair few, me included have sent you in the direction of many job opportunities.
I understand there is a particular road you want to go down, but there is a time for stubbornness and selectivity, when you are claiming government handouts, this is not the time for it.

I do hope you're trolling when you're playing the sympathy card, because if you're not, you really are becoming a tad deluded. I hope one day you do listen to this constructive critisism and work 9 until 5, and like I have said to you before, you will no doubt thank me and wish you had done it sooner.

It's ok saying "you have all your life for it", but I dont think you have. The longer you leave it, the worse it will be as companies will look straight past all the "dancing in a radio leeds studio, and nagging nick clegg's team to say a few words in the local paper. They will ask the ultimate question "what actual work experience do you have?

What is the t shirt money going towards? I know it says regarding podcasts but practically what stuff is needed to do this?

The money is going towards wages and expenses. I’ll be paying myself a modest wage of £100 a week for 26 weeks. Obviously if I get more work elsewhere then I can use the money funded through the t-shirts to pay someone else a wage.

Expenses will be for things like traveling to meet people who want to be a part of the show amongst other things.

The thread stays for now, just. Tad and LTID raise valid points, but if any of you get anymore personal than it is now then I'm binning it.

Invincible – If I nagged then I wouldn’t be in the position that I’m into today. The people doing the nagging is the likes of yourself, tad and Shebert dip who amongst others have nagged for me to get a ‘real job’ in the ‘real world’ for years. Has it worked? No.

I get results unlike you lot and it’s just slowly starting to financially pay off.

I do believe you mate and I wish the best for you too. Whilst there might be still a debate to be had on here hopefully sometime in the future we can all call everything a truce and do away with these heated debates. But to be frank I’d rather just leave the debate here.

You may not believe me but I think it’s sick that people past a certain age have to work in bottom end jobs. We should be in a society where career paths are clear from starting out in the working world and until retirement. Instead some people have the misfortune to have the same job that they hate for most of their lives. I agree that in life we have to do things we don’t like at times and I’ve done it by been on the dole. Ideally for the years I’ve been unemployed I’d rather would have had a job stacking shelves in a supermarket but supermarkets have treated me with no respect whatsoever when I tried to pave out a job in their stores. I was viewed as an endless stream of unemployed people to work for free in their stores at their disposal. But we don’t live in an ideal world and I can’t change what’s happened in the past. Circumstances have changed since those early attempts to gain employment in a supermarket. To go back to them to stack shelves would be a massive waste of my potential which I’ve spent years not fulfilling. I’m grateful that I’m in this position to pursue all of this which is off the backs of a society that has been they for me when I’ve needed it.

I think there is a larger debate to be had regarding benifits and people receiving dole money and my personal opinion is that a lot of people are frustrated by this (me included) and you seem to get the brunt of people's frustrations regarding this.
There are loads of people out there (again sadly I deal with them most days) who abuse the system take money from tax payers and have no intention of ever working in their life. These people get on my wick and shouldn't receive a penny, it's people like this that probably get u the stick u get.
I believe there should be help for people who need it but the ones that sit on their back sides with no intention of ever doing anything shouldn't get a penny.
In terms of yourself it appears to me at least you are trying to do something positive about your situation. I personally if I was in your shoes would have gone down the route of Tad, invincable etc and any job is better than nothing, but from what I have read would not count you with the "scroungers" who do anoy me, because as far as I can see you are trying to do something positive. Not what I would do but hey we are all different.

Luckily I am classed as a professional with a well paid job and university degree. To fund uni I had to work 3 jobs and after uni I had 2 almost full time jobs till I got my career, so as I say I would in your situation gone about things differently but who's to say what's right and what's wrong. It's people who have no intention of getting off benifits that I have a issue with.


Also people who need and deserve benifits don't always get them. A friend of my dad worked all his life as a printer. Got made redundant and instead of claiming took the only job avalable in a hand car wash. When that job went he couldn't find any work, but was told he could not claim anything for I think 6 weeks because he had just left a job. A man who had paid tax all his life and only needed a little help while trying to get another job
