| For an away fan the Leeds spectating areas are very poor, remind me of the 50's. Though the crickets area is nice in a summers evening.

As for the stand, I too have stood there and it is not great but you had the option to come in the East stand. There is a pay on the gate option and while maybe not all of you would have fitted in there was that option.
Also don't talk to us about getting wet, every time we come to your ground we are subjected to some awful weather with no roof and crumbling steps. No plans to redevelop that end of your ground as I understand it yet Craven Park will be a 4 stand stadium within the next 3 or 4 years.'"
As for the West Terrace, I have stood there and it isn't the best, but you have the option to come in the South Stand/Carnegie. There is a pay on the gate option (9 times out of ten) and while all of your 2million travelling fans may not have fitted in, there was that option.

| Next season you'll be sat in here so most of your concerns won't exist.
To say Hull KR is the worst stadium in the league is rubbish. It's far from the best however We've spent alot of money on Craven Park since we came up and that will carry on once the North stand is built to improve the south end of the ground. We've promised to improve our stadium and unlike teams like Cas & Wakey who say they will improve facilities we are actually improving.

Leeds fans on Sunday had this view. Not great but an improvement.
Next season we'll be sorted and you'll get to have a great view. Bear with us.

All I saw was a site cleared of rubbish and that had been levelled.
Did Lytham & St Annes ask for their golf stand back?

| I was impressed by the scale of the cleared area. I thought it would just be the temporary stand, but all the turnstiles and the club have been bulldozed from that end.
As poor as the view has been in the past at KR, I've always kind of admired the way they've gone about doing up their ground. They cut their cloth accordingly, and seem to be doing what they can, when they can. I look forward to the new away end when it's done.

Well done KR, plenty clubs talk a good game about stadium developments (us included) but you are actually doing it. Kudos.

| You will have nothing to cry about next year if all goes to plan. Nobody forced you to come and watch from the south stand and you knew it was far removed from the pitch before you came. Kevin Sinfield esque all this whinging. Thanks to those who acknowledge our efforts to improve.

Which is the exact reason why I didn't bother gracing CP this year. Got conned one year with some '2 4 £10' (or whatever) deal to stand on the South Terrace (calling it a stand is way too generous). Couldn't see a damn thing, so when faced with the option of standing their or in the East Stand with a load of interbred Neanderthals I chose to stay at home and listen to Yorkshire Radio's commentary.
Hull is my least favorite city to visit so TBH it doesn't take too much persuading me not to go.

Well im sorry we dont have a brand new perfect stadium with exceptional views from each stand. Not missed a single Rovers SL game at Headingley yet always seem to get wet in the uncovered west stand. Think next season I'll take your dim view on supporting your own team and not bother.

Not teach you to read in West Yorkshire? Craven Park will be a 4 sided stadium with both the North and South having new stands to match or better the facilities at Headingley.
Quote ="Him"There are no wooden seats in the Carnegie Stand.
The wooden seats are still in the North Stand because they are more comfortable than plastic seats.
The Western Terrace is not crumbling at all, you are talking b0llox.
The only problem with the South Stand from a spectators point is the supports, which will not be a problem when it is rebuilt in a few years, responsibly, with the money the club generates.
Headingley is deemed an international stadium because it provides a reasonable experience for spectators and it's hospitality and corporate facilities are the best for any rugby league stadium in the country bar Wembley.'"
I didn't say there where any wooden seats in the Carnegie stand, I class a stand along the long side of the pitch that is not standing as any clubs "best" stand. More comfortable than plastic seats? Ok then let's run with that excuse!!!
The Western Terrace that I have stood on for the past 6 years is no better than standing at Featherstone. So considering you're a club that makes profit year on year (in the Hetherington world of accounting) why are Leeds running on a par with a financially troubled Championship club in relation to that stand?
I hope your South Stand is rebuilt and I hope not replaced with a soul-less plastic stand. I love the old stadia but it is always nice to keep up with the times on certain things like a roof which given the time you've been at the top of the game should have been forthcoming many years ago.
Quote Headingley is deemed an international stadium because it provides a reasonable experience for spectators and it's hospitality and corporate facilities are the best for any rugby league stadium in the country bar Wembley.'"
Are you really comparing your Carnegie stand to other stadiums in the country like the KC and DW? When all is said and done you have 3 very poor (in comparison to the all singing all dancing stadia built within the past 13 years) stands that would be lucky to get a SL licence if it were not for the club playing in the middle of them. You have one stand that I accept is a great facility but would not class it as second in line only to Wembley within the Rugby League stadia circle! That is a statement straight from the Gary Hetherington PR machine and it looks like some Leeds fans take it hook, line and sinker!
As I stated I like the feel of older stadia compared to the new places like Hudds, Wigan, Hull...etc and places like Widnes, Saints, Salford and Leigh have even less feeling to them. But when criticism is thrown at HKR due to the distance from the pitch that stand is and how it is uncovered, especially when it comes from Leeds fans, it is only to be expected to get some criticism back. The ground was designed to be the home of dog racing and then speedway, it was not designed for the sole use of a Rugby League club.
Easty posted the pictures of what you should be sitting in as of next season however the completion date isn't while August so more than likely you will be given that same stand next year too depending on how the fixtures fall. From 2014 there should be building work going on down at the South end of the ground which will hopefully house what we are hearing, something unique to the sport and the area. My guess is a 50mtr pool and world class squash facility with hotel and corporate facilities but let's see when it is announced!
For what it is worth I will still be attending Headingley, come rain or shine, crumbling steps or shiny new seats! I go to support my team and will watch the match in greater detail on HKR.tv during the week!

| Are you really throwing football grounds into the mix??
Care to expand the "Hetherington world of accounting" bit?
Whatever your plans for CP good for you but until they're done visting fans can offer their opinions on the state of the ground they've visited thus far just as you are freely chelping about ours.
As for the "lucky to get a SL licence" bit PMSL you'd still be in Championship 1 then old lad if that were the ONLY criteria for the Licences.

I don't entirely disagree with a lot of what you've said, but you haven't covered yourself in glory here.
1) Having one stand that is on a par with Fev is a pretty poor equation with the whole thing being on a par with Fev (it's quite a bit bigger than its Fev equivalent, by the way).
2) Perhaps we make a profit year on year because we don't keep splashing out cash on white elephant rennovation projects every 10 minutes.
3) The accounts are filed in the real world, so I am not sure what the "Hethrington World of Accounting" means? Perhaps you can elaborate, otherwise that might sound a bit like bitterness to some readers.
4) Most Leeds fans would love to see the Western Terrace redeveloped. There are, however, significant issues around how tightly it is squeezed by neighbouring housing and the public right of way across the back, which make planning a bit tricky. I'd still rather have that stand than move to a soulless purpose built ground on a retail park though.

Surely you would class the stand with the most expensive seats in it as the "best stand"?
Quote ="nick hkr"More comfortable than plastic seats? Ok then let's run with that excuse!!! '"
Every other part of the stadium has had work done on it over the last 20 years, do you really think that they wouldn't have put new seats in if it was needed? The fact is the season ticket holders who sit in those seats have been repeatedly asked their views and they say the wooden seats are more comfortable than sitting in plastic seats, and having been on a couple of corporates before I would agree with them.

I'm sorry, you originally said the Western Terrace is crumbling, have you changed your mind? I'd love to know, other than a roof, how standing could be improved on the Western Terrace? So by comparing it to Fev you are basically saying there isn't a roof. Well spotted. Did you also spot the public walkway right behind the stand and the housing right behind the public walkway?
The "Hetherington world of accounting"? Don't throw slurs around just because your own club can't add up.

So in 8 years we should have bought the houses behind the stand, negotiated with council re the public footpath, passed planning permission, designed, financed and built effectively a new stand? I see why you support KR now.

try reading it again. I never compared the spectators view to any ground. I said, and would maintain (having been on corporates at Headingley, KC, DW & the Galpharm, and from the feedback from other people on corporates), that Headingley's hospitality and corporate facilities are the best of any rugby league stadium bar Wembley. That's why we are twice the size of your club. Don't talk such rubbish re the SL licence, you're embarrassing yourself.

I think the distance from the pitch and the uncovered nature of the stand at KR are legitimate criticisms. Don't you? Just like away fans criticism of the Western Terrace being uncovered is a legitimate criticism. Just don't make up bull about the rest of the stadium just because you feel protective over Craven Park.

| Leeds fans should in no way feel superior to any other group of supporters regarding the facilities at Headingley. Three sides of the ground are an embarrassment for the biggest club within the game - perhaps this is a Leeds thing, Elland Rd is equally shabby.
The North stand - hasn't had any money spent on it in living memory - and viewing is restricted in all but the central third of the upper tier i.e. where the coaches sit. Not sure what the corporate clients think if they are used to the likes of the Galpharm.
The Carneige is a brilliant stand but viewing in the standing area isn't fantastic.
The Southstand is an iconic viewing location but more could be done with its infrastructure.
The Western terrace is simply an embarrassment
