Harrigan, I don't believe I've met you yet, but I completely agree with the above. The point of the drum isn't to create an atmosphere out of nothing but to improve what's there, which I think it does by giving a rhythm that basically everyone can follow (the problem often being that sound drifting across the stand leads to not everyone joining in, and different small pockets with multiple different chants).

I think the best atmosphere away this year was probably Wigan (despite the small following), where I was stood with a bunch of guys (yourselves?) wanting to sing a variety of things, and for which I was happy to both play and shut the f**k up for, depending on which was most appropriate.

I'll (as usual) be at the back behind the sticks on friday if you want to try and work together.

The crowd looked to me from the tv to be about 50:50.

Me and three other Leeds fans were in the two tiered stand along the side. I'm sire there will have been others. Leeds away following looked consistent with the game two weeks ago. The missing 3,000 were Giants fans.
