| Heighington offered to play for GB some years ago, then it went quiet until this year when he brought it up again. Regardless of whether he comes to SL, he should be in the England squad.
He's no Ali MkII - a hardworking loose forward in the Aussie style, not a blockbuster.

| He is a good solid player, gets through loads of work and plays 80 mins every week but i dont think we need another workaholic backrower.
Next year we'll have JJB, Ablett, Sinfield, Clarkson, Hauraki, Pitts and hopefully Delaney will get moved to the back row to make way for a quality centre. Even if Ali leaves that still gives us 7 players to fill 3 positions and a bench spot or two. Plus we've got the likes of Kirke who will no doubt still be here and will play there if needed. IMO we dont need anymore backrowers that will just do the basics and get through there work, we need someone like the Ali of a few years ago, even more so if he leaves. Hauraki was a poor replacement for Eastwood but could become a quality player for us with the right coaching, just not the current one as he's gone backwards just on last years form.

You've highlighted that we have too much mediocre in the back row. Get rid of a couple and bring in some Gaz Ellis style quality.

| Quote ="G1"Of the 45 national FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) affiliates in which English is an official or primary language, 43 use football in their organisations' official names (only Canada and United States use soccer). Soccer has been the prevailing term for association football in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, where other codes of football are dominant. The term used for association football is going through a period of transition in recent times. In 2005, Australia's association football governing body changed its name from soccer to football to align with the general international usage of the term.[1 In 2006, New Zealand decided to follow suit citing "the international game is called football".[2

There are numerous variants of Football codes of which Association Football is but one, hence the abbreviated term soccer. Just because one particular code of football becomes the most popular throughout the world, does not give it the right to exclusive singular use of that particular term.

I did think the debate about passports was irrelevant, although I don't recall claiming to have an English passport. Mine was issued in England, as it goes, so I suppose you could regard it as English in that sense, but it definitely says "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" on the front.
I feel pleased to have contributed something similarly irrelevant. I feel like we're bonding.

It was issued in the UK.
England doesn't issue passports because it isn't a country and does not have the authority to set up an agency to issue them.

England is in the UK.
The country that issued said passport was never questioned, more the country where the passport was issued.
These are two different statements but you seem to be deliberately confusing the two to validate your point.

That would be my interpretation on the quota issue.
Leeds currently have Delaney, Buderus and Hauraki on quota and under contract for 2012.

Non-factual.
It was issued in England, within the UK. I didn't say it was issued by England. I can be more precise and give you the county it was issued in if you like? Counties can't issue passports, but they still have defined geographical boundaries within which the act of issuing a passport can take place.
Since you're committed to a flight of pedantry, England is a country. It is designated a "Constituent Country" of the soverign state "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland." The term "country" is often used, for convenience, to mean a sovereign state. That isn't strictly accurate however, as "country" and "sovereign state" have different definitions.
