On Elliott, I was surprised to see him get the nod given McDermott's comments about Aston Wilson a few weeks ago being "next man up".

I think the desire to aid his development by exposing him to first team rugby might have been slightly outweighed by the absence of Jones-Bishop, Smith, Watkins and Hardaker who would all have had the place ahead of him.

It was a bit of a rabbit in the headlights debut. Kid kept coming but kept fluffing up. Sometimes you see kids on their debut and can instantly see they're first team material. This didn't look the case. Then again, some take a while to settle and surprise you. I'll admit JJB and Hall fell into the latter category for me. So, if I am searching for a positive it could be that he's a grow-er not a show-er.
