| I thought he had the deer in a headlights look about him but that's totally understandable, he was bound to be bricking himself in his Super League debut.
As said previously, he got in there and made some decent runs when he went looking for work and looked like he was settling into it towards the end.

Graham is no Ian Kirke in the pace department despite being very quick for a front rower. No winger worth his salt (especially one that can't have weighed more than 12 stone) should be getting run down by Graham.

| FFS, it was the kid's SL debut, for a team that has been under performing for the last couple of seasons, and already the s are on his back.
Some of you need to take yourselves outside for a word. Seriously!
Let us also remember, the previous Gingher who occasionally performed on that wing took 12 months before showing the slightest interest in earning his salary.

What about full-backs being played out of position on the wing?
On Elliott, I was surprised to see him get the nod given McDermott's comments about Aston Wilson a few weeks ago being "next man up".
An inauspicious start to the game, what with the pass in the face from Clarkson (although quite why a second row tackling machine thinks he's a ball-player and suddenly starts putting on moves is another question entirely) and getting caught under a high kick which he then failed to take Aussie Rules style above his head.
After that it looked like the harder he tried, the less comfortable he got. Whether the pass was forward or not, the "chance" he put down in the north-west corner was meat and drink to any winger.
If Watkins still isn't back for Friday, Orr and Chase will kick the poor kid back into the Under 20s on that showing. Worth considering a switch back to the threequarter line that finished the game at Odsal, with Ablett in the centres and Senior on the wing? It's a narrow pitch at Cas, so less chance of the old man getting caught for pace out wide.

| Not the best debut but he didn't shirk from taking tha ball in and the first try he was faced with a 3 on 1 against him.
As Andy has said would suggest Friday is not really the game for him to be playing if you have any consideration for his future?
McDermot should still be applauded for giving him a chance - they will never improve if they never get the opportunity to experience the standards required.

I think the desire to aid his development by exposing him to first team rugby might have been slightly outweighed by the absence of Jones-Bishop, Smith, Watkins and Hardaker who would all have had the place ahead of him.

My point was he could have opted for your idea of Senior on the wing and Ablett in the centre?
I hear Smith is now potentially long term with the tear in his hamstring 3 times the length it was prior to the Hull KR game!!

Agreed, or do something like we did last year and play Clarkson outside Senior.
It is quite pleasing to see quite a few getting starts tbh.

| It was a bit of a rabbit in the headlights debut. Kid kept coming but kept fluffing up. Sometimes you see kids on their debut and can instantly see they're first team material. This didn't look the case. Then again, some take a while to settle and surprise you. I'll admit JJB and Hall fell into the latter category for me. So, if I am searching for a positive it could be that he's a grow-er not a show-er.

Clarkson or Senior on the wing....ugghhh.
Maybe give Ellis another chance, but he def looked more Tom Bush than Zak Hardaker.
If Smith doesn't make it I would opt for Wilson or Chisholm to be given a run.

I first thought she was married to a Ben Cross too, so I was working on a witty response. Until I checked on Wikipedia and he was John Cross. Never mind.

Apparently he wasn't far off making the Faetherstone side on Monday, so it's possible he could make an appearance on Friday I guess.
