What's everyone's big deal with travelling with the club?!

If it's what you want, at a price you can afford, then do it.

How many people have bought Gold Season Tickets instead of Silver? How many people have joined Rhinos for life?? Are these all "stupid" too???

By travelling with the club, not only do I get to fly direct from LBA, but I get to travel with the players, and in doing so, by paying a bit more, I'm helping the club to fund the trip. I get something out of it, the club get something out of it, and I can afford it.

If you could afford it, you'd do the same and you're kidding yourself if you say you wouldn't.

Imo its the lazy ass option. If you browse about online you can tailer your own trip for a couple of hundred cheaper. But if you want everything done for you and don't mind parting with a few 50s then why not...

The bottom line is, travelling with the club is only as "stupid" as people choosing to pay £42.50 for a kit when it will be £25.00 after the season is over;
or choosing to pay £20 extra for Gold Membership when Silver still gets you into all the games;
or choosing to buy your kids a Rhinos Duvet Cover when Asda Smartprice still covers the duvet;
or choosing to have a hotdog at the ground when you could buy a Lidl hotdog for 2p;
or driving a car worth anything over £200 when you can get a machine that will take you from A to B for £200.

Why do you own a kettle when it's perfectly possible to boil water in a Smartprice Pan?? Because you can afford a kettle, you want a kettle, and having a kettle makes your life more convenient.

The ONLY (and it is the ONLY difference) between those examples and travelling with the club, is the amount of money involved.

The principle (of paying a little bit more for something because you want to) is exactly the same and I would expect all these people calling me "stupid" to be living in the cheapest possible house, driving the cheapest possible car, living off the cheapest possible food, with the cheapest possible clothes, watching the cheapest possible TV, without owning any games consoles, or iPods, or a kettles, because otherwise you're a hypocrite.

I pay more for quality all the time mate. Doesn't mean I let myself get fleeced just because I'm good for the coin...

Getting fleeced would be if the EXACT SAME TRIP was available else where for cheaper and we all know that it isn't.

You're paying for the experience, and the convenience and seen as both of those are commodities that don't have a standardised price tag then you can't say I'm getting fleeced.

You see, I've booked with the club and they've privately charted a flight so they've just moved it to accommodate.

If you take away the 'travelling with the players' perk then yes it is. Are you really sad enough to pay extra to be sat on the same plane as the players?

Take away the players ar[is[/ie licking and I could get you the same 2nights B&B in Barcelona & 1 night in Perp & flights for less than £300.

I would say the definition of getting fleeced is paying more for something that you could get cheaper elsewhere. We've already established that you can't get the direct LBA flight, 3 nights in hotels, transfers, an excursion, and match tickets for less than £1070 for 2. So thus, whilst I'm not debating it is expensive, I certainly am not "getting fleeced".

I haven't anywhere said, that you couldn't do the trip for cheaper. If I set off now I'm pretty sure I could walk it and sleep on the streets. That's not what I'm arguing against. I'm just saying, you shouldn't all be calling me "stupid" for paying a little bit more for the convenience and experience when as mentioned above, other than the amounts of money involved (which is all relative depending on what you have) it's no different to any of the things we all do daily.

Personally, I don't drink or smoke. So I'm sure I could call a lot of you "stupid" for "wasting" money on alcohol and cigs (both of which cost a fortune and have been scientifically proven to kill you). But I don't, because that's your personal choice and to you, it's not "wasted". Do I stand at the checkout and say... "You're getting fleeced on those cigs mate!"? No, because I'm a polite, understanding, tolerant, non-judgemental human being.

I have no doubts at all that it isn't the cheapest way of doing it, I just resent getting called "stupid" because I can afford/want to do it that way.

Perhaps one day you'll be as "stupid" as me, and you'll be able to afford a grand for a weekend away too.

In summary, you have more money than sense.
