Just to add Brian Mc is quoted today in the LE as saying there will be at least 1 maybe 2 more new arrivals and he also states very clearly that we got known for our "dissent" but says he's sure "that will be gone by week 5".

Nothings 100% in the bag with Hauraki but it's near enough signed and sealed.

I'm assuming the delay in the official announcement has been to do with sorting the future of the coach and indeed the club out before sorting out player contracts/movement?

Some people on the Cru Cru Crusaders forum have previously written this transfer rumour off stating Hauraki signed a new contract last season?

Maybe we have been waitingt to see if Crusaders go under so getting him for nothing as opposed to have to come to a 'deal' if what Crusaders fans say about his contract situation with them is correct?

yes I hope the assistant coach is right will be a good signing. I not blown away with hauraki signing, but I probably haven't seen enough of him so will reserve judgment but at this stage I am not excited by the news

I'm not putting the player down, I just don't think Leeds should be wasting time on players of that ilk. It's not like he is going to put bums on seats like a big NRL signing would do. I would prefer to give Pitts more game time, and introduce Stewart a lot more into it and lets see how they go.

If he comes though, then he comes, and I will support him like any other. But I would not be dissapointed if he didn't arrive.

I see what you are saying here and in part agree. However could he be another Willie Poaching et al who turn out to be great servants and add that little bit to the team thatwe have been missing?

He coached "Northern Pride" in the Queensland cup comp for a yr then last year he was assistant at Newcastle Knights.

That's who i'd liken the signing to rather than him getting compared to Ali.
Only time will tell how it turns out and although he's far from a "marquee" signing i think he could be decent for us but i still hope to see the likes of Pitts and Clarkson get more game-time this year.

I don't know about the Buderus "connection" mate tbh but he was very highly thought of when he was here as aplayer and i agree with your last sentence completely and just to add he could add more creative spark to our halves.

Arguably personally less talented & slower than either Burrow or McGuire but made the most of his talent by using his nous.
Though he did cause anguish on occasion by running backwards, sideways & forwards like a headless chicken, confusing everyone including his teammates & himself it sometimes seemed.
Couldn't be faulted for commitment however.

Who's to say that Pitts and Stewart couldn't be Willie Poaching style players also if given the chance? Just because they are not pacific island guys does not make them any less worthwhile.

You could be right and he could end up been an absolute super star, but to me he is gamble that I would prefer to do with the youngsters if given the choice.
