I'm not saying any of those comments from Phil Clarke are acceptable either. Both Phil Clarke and Jamie Peacock should not have said what they have in the media. It only adds to the growing tension between the players on the field and the fans off the field. However, any Leeds fans condoning those comments of Jamie Peacock and yet lambasting the nefarious Phil Clarke they only stand to look like utter sanctimonious hypocrites.

I find it staggering that both sets of supporters choose to prattle on about the comments of Phil Clarke in the build up to both sides biggest match of the Super League season. This game has all the makings of another classic Leeds v Wigan encounter. Something that I am very much looking forward to with great excitement and anticipation. I hope we see a game that demonstrates both the talents of the players of both sides and the reason I believe this sport is the best in the world.

As you say, may the best team win.

It's hard to just ignore comments like that and let people off with it. It's only a game of rugby after all. Either way, I agree with the last part. I hope for a fair and exciting game of rugby, with the only topic of discussion after the match being how good a game it was.

I agree entirely with the last part of your post. I wouldn't want the game to be ruined with someone being sent off after ten minutes or a controversial refereeing decision.

Well, we played with no halfbacks for that match, losing one just the day before, so you can boast about that win if you like but it's probably the least convincing of all the boasts. And then, of course, you might have beaten Warrington twice during the season but when it came to the CC final you were well and truly tonked. So again, it's a bit of an empty boast. Probably the only boast worthy of a boast is the win against Wigan in the CC. Not sure they'll let you off this time around though. I guess it depends on how badly they want to be at Old Trafford.

To be honest mate, I haven't actually had a chance to rant at a Wigan fan over what was said yet, it just happened you were the first one who I have spoke to. I don't think it should be brought up every time a Wigan fan makes a comment, but I think you and your fans should bare it in mind and not be so quick to judge if a rash comment is made.

He posted a reply to someone who said we were'nt good enough this year so he mainly pointed out the games where we have been good enough against the top 3!

normally i would not write on other teams sites but after peacocks remarks i'm making an exception.i have watched rl over 50 yrs and yes i am bias towards wigan as all fans are to their own team.i had a lot of respect for peacock but with this article everything has gone through the window.when he talks about the spirit of the game does he forget the tackle he made on young tomkins,or abletts tackle on the same player,or seniors kick out at joel tompkins were these incidents in the spirit of the game.it's about time players and fans alike got into the spirt of the game.maybe then we would stand a chance of beating the aussies.as an after thought i remember watching wigan and leeds in a semi final at swinton great atmosphere all the fans drinking and joking together before/after the match,great atmosphere and thats the difference between rugby and football ,lets not lose it.hope peacock reads this you have had your time don't spoil anyone elses.

As much as I can understand the sentiment of your post mate you must remember that between 1985 and 1995

the first team to start taking matters from last week into saturdays game will lose the match
every team has fans from oppersite ends of the spectrum and a few i've chatted to have wished mags a speedy recovery so we're better off just ignoring their idiot minority

people talk about leeds inconsistancy this season but i cant remember a leeds team with not just so many injuries but the amout of injuries that happened early in matches leaving us short on the bench
this did contribute to us losing games we would have won in past years

saturdays game will be all about how wigan handle the pressure, they have been to the semi's many times in the recent past yet fall at the final hurdle
if wigan can handle the pressure then the fact they have an almost injury free squad might just tip the balance their way but if they cant then leeds can and do have the strike power to once again end their season

Whilst I agree deliberately smashing a fullback high (and getting a deserved ban) is just plain stupid, I agree with JP - mouthing off & hovering over somebody who is clearly injured is the act of a coward.

So basically peacock is calling piggy and leuluai cowards.

Hardly the smartest thing to say but it's somewhat negated by the fact peacock won't be so won't have to deal with any backlash.

There was a point in last years GF that i wondered whether what i was watching was worth 25,000 miles of travelling. All came good in the end of course. I won't tempt fate for either semi or possible final and book flights this year.
Obvious lack of melbourne participation in the nrl has meant league coverage in victoria is dismal, but still enjoying seeing gaz ellis do well in the highlights. Tickets for the melbourne test down the road duly purchased

To be fair, that could only be an improvement in the overwhelming majority of cases.
