Suggest you read ALL my posts this thread. As for hating....who said that ? Any player that provokes strong reaction from the opposition supporters is a player you should know is to be feared and respected. Hate is just a euphemism for fear.

For me it should have been Amos FB, Tomkins SO and Deacon SH for a certain GF winning team.....but what do I know ?
i think Leeds' chances are certainly increased if you maintain the same FB/SO/SH line up you put out against HKR.'"

Ref Wellens..... I DID say "modicum" of attacking ability...meaning pace.
Mathers' performance at Wembley was the epitome of the best FB play for me....as you state quite correctly damn him.
I have high hopes for Jones - Bishop based only on the edited highlights I confess. He does appear to be blessed with the right attributes of reasonable bulk, technique and attacking pace/kick returns.

Deacons barely played this year, especially starting. He's usually come off the bench apart from the last 7 or 8 games when Sam moved to fb, which has coincided with most of our losses.

You're right....but only been the once back in January ...and then only to support the away team.
That was the time I thought Leeds had actually signed a brilliant right centre capable of putting the man outside him on a clear run to the line ( McGuire's try ).....instead of the second rower or even prop who is quite evidently playing out of position.
Despite the appeal of watching a top class scum half there I still prefer to get across to Leeds whenever I can .... My relative now out on long term basis still holds that greater appeal.

| Did you watch our game on Friday? Richards was our defensive fullback and Sam was our Attacking fullback. Good luck trying to get past him. Although without McGuire I doubt you will be making many breaks anyway. Quiet night for Pat.
And good luck trying to stop Sam.

| If you are honest, any team would love to have the Tomkins brothers in the team. They are two of the brightest hopes England have and Sam has already proved his worth at International level in last season's 4 Nations.
Ryan Bailey would not last 2 minutes against the Aussies. He would be found out for the coward that he is!

You've obviously never played Rugby League.
Its a tough sport. Especially in the amatuer ranks we're there is plenty of biff in the pack. Ryan Bailey came thou the amatuer ranks and earned himself a contract with one the the best Rugby League clubs in the world.
So tell me would you be able to do the same? Whether you like it or not every SL prop is hard as nails. You have to be to get to that level in the first place.

A left foot step and a penalty machine.
Jeez I bet Lockyer and Thaiday are losing sleep over facing "two of the brightest hopes England have".
Remind me again what Tomkins actually contributed in the 4 Nations last year? Eastmond p*ssed all over him IMO and looked much the better prospect of the two.

Merely worried for the lad's safety. We wouldn't wish him to come to any harm, especially when he cheats, and perhaps invoke the wrath of the 'Rugby Gods', would we?

What an odd comment. He doesn't worry me, I don't have to defend against him. I'm sure he has the coaches of most opposing teams worried, I haven't seen anybody here deny his ability. I still agree that he isn't a full back, and if I were Wigan's coach I'd want him where he gets his hands on the ball as often as possible.
As for England, we don't actually have a full back who's brilliant in attack and defence, so we have to choose one or the other. I think, however, that Sam Tomkins will probably be at 6 for England in November.

| Sam is very good going forward of that i have no doubt, but if Eastwood gets the ball all he will have is stud marks from where he has run over him and i think Joel like Bailey can sometimes be a bit of a liability but teams need a player that will rub the opposing teams up the wrong way. Some games it works and some it doesn't but away fans love to h8 Big Bailey. lol

Lol i know what you mean.
J.Tomkins 33 penatlies and 2 yellow cards this season are far worse than Bailey's 19 penaltiesicon_smile.gif
Or you could look over 3 seasons and see that they both have the same kind of disciplinary record compared to appearances and penalties.
Bailey 2007-2010
Apperances: 57
Penalties: 45
J.Tomkins 2007-2010
Apperances: 75
Penalties: 58

Why do you think he would want to demean himself enough to play alongside the amoral (Sam), pusillanimous (Joel) brothers. ??

Bailey is a cowardly poo bag. Usually tries to bully the smallest oposing player then hides when the big boys come looking for him and he has more cheapshot tactics than any RL player I can think of,utter tosspot.
