No Wigan fans I know are getting carried away, lets have a look after Easter Monday (10 Games) and then after 20 games to see how things are. It's a long season and there will be changes but just let me say I'm happy with the way things have gone so far in comparison to last season when we lost 5 of our first 7 games.

Its a massive task to win it from 8th, even anything outside the top 2 takes some doing as history has shown. Im sure the Wigan team under Maguire will only be focusing on Leeds on Friday and not some journalist.

Who said Wigan are in form? We are top of the league and have put together some impressive spells during games but we are far from stringing 80 minutes together, i guess that is a worry for the rest of the league.

The only people getting carried away with the way Wigan are playing are the media and opposition fans like you. Wigan vs Cas were fairly average, they just upped the game when they had to to put the game beyond doubt then dropped off again.

I do not for one minute think any team is playing at the top of their game so to criticise Wigan for letting in tries once they had one the game and say its not championship winning/play off rugby is a bit random given we are so early into the season

I would worry about my own teams performances since the start of the season, even before the injuries, rather than Wigans chance of winning the comp

Thats just a load of rubbish. Simple reason being is that champion teams have pride in their defence and dont like conceding soft tries. Sometimes your just way off form,at sixes and sevens and it cannot be helped, thats the case with Leeds at the min, but not with Wigan.

The Leeds of previous seasons loved nothing more than defending their line. Practice makes perfect. If Wigan cant be bothered stopping those soft tries then they dont have pride in their line. Leeds have always had the mentality of "if your going to get over our line, your going to have to work for it". Thats what makes champions.

When Cas visit Wigan later in the year, Cas will go into the game with a confident mentality as they know last time out they scored some points against them with ease. Whereas if Wigan would have had pride in their line and shut the door on Cas then Cas would go to the DW Stadium with a bit of fear and lack confidence.

Seems to me some random bloke who wrote this "article" has hit a raw nerve with Leeds fans, it has with Wigan fans too but simply because it is a poor bit of journalism given the stage in the season we are at.

Wigan fans are confident but not OTT, the feeling when we go into every game is one of confidence and why shouldn't it be. Very few expect a win but most are confident of a win regardless of who we play and I do not see a problem with that.

Wigan are at the top of the league and have not set the world on fire, which is a good sign in my opinion. To a man at least on these forums Wigan fans feel the next 3 games will give us more of a realistic idea of how good we are or could be, seems to me the Leeds fans who are biting to this article are the ones that felt the Loiners were going to walk through another SL season untouched.
