Here's hoping for a good hard game on Sunday and may the best team win and not come down to an error from the officials. Safe journey over.'"
Cheers Bud, will be a great game, one im not missing!

| Quote ="PONNER"I'm not so sure about that mate, the Rhinos fans I work with thought they lacked attacking ideas. McGuires try was an opportunist try. Watkins came close twice but other than that I can't remember them causing Melbourne any trouble. I didn't see the Quins game but can that be used as a yard stick to say you've turned the corner?'"
Well other than we crossed the line more than they did, I am not sure how much trouble you would like against the best defensive side in the world? Watkins should have scored his first and came close on his second but both were ruled out quite correctly. Danny's was opportunist but he still went 80m to score it! We were massive in defence and got caught out by a quick tap that, had we have been better organised, we probably would have stopped. The final try was nothing more than icing for Melbourne from an already beat Rhinos side. I have argued that both side were massive but I did feel we just lost the game rather than them just winning it, so to speak.
I agree about Quins and I was not there, so can't comment first hand, but 48 unanswered points in the second half is a nice indication that we might be about to reach the apex of a corner, if not get all the way round it!

| I am looking forward to this and will be at the Galpharm.
The Giants certainly look a very capable side but they fell short against us last year? We've had a far less impressive start to the season than them but i do feel we turned a corner against Melbourne and then against much weaker opposition with Quins. Things looked like they were starting to click finally on attack.

| Leeds have been the top side in the Uk for around 4 years. The fact that a GF winning side can add delaney /eastwood and a fully fit Buderus is...frightening. For the Giants to go from easy beats to a team that can give the Rhinos a tough game is a mark of signifcant improvement. There are clear indications that the players recruited by Brown are improving the team and good young players are coming through.
For the Giants to be without 2 major gamebreakers (hodgson and drew)and 3 key forwards (Wild, Kirmond and Mason) and still have a chance is very encouraging.
See you guys at the galpharm.

I think that is a very fair assessment but would of course point out that key players from both sides are missing for this game and neither will be playing their first choice 17.

| Leeds could be without Sinfield, Delaney, Donald and Ablett. Basically our right flank completely wiped out, but like Giants we did ok without them last week.

Heavy pitch. Did not want to risk previous injury that was not 100% but played in WCC.

From what I can gather having read a post he made on his twitter account, he was expecting to play early on in the week, but sounded like he'd been rested as a precaution more than anything else.

| The quins game was an unopposed training session and delaney wasn't needed.

| He was rushed into the Melbourne game, hence the fitness test 30 mins before the game. With a long season ahead very wise from Bluey to give him a weeks rest.

| The Headingley pitch is now a factor in coach McClennan's selections?
It looked pretty solid under foot and didn't prevent Leeds racking up their best meterage of the last two seasons.

Just what we needed. Wonder how many penalties Silverwood will call on Senior in this game? Hopefully Seniors comments about Silverwood will not be a factor.

Granted we werent on song the first 2 games but the Storm game saw us return to form and I doubt if anyone other than the top club in the game atm could have lived with us during that 80 mins.
The Giants are buzzing and it should be a cracker.

| Quote ="RhinoNeil"He did Indeed. But who says Huddersfield cannot slow Leeds down? Just because Leeds are determined not to be slowed down again doesnt mean they will be successful - esp against a side like Hudds who are good at it. Hudds are big boys there not going to change their game plan just because big bad bluey said it wont work again.
If Huddersfield try and match Leeds for pace - a bit like the old St Helens then they have no chance. Leeds have pacey strong forwards which will just blow them away.'"
not trying to cause a row but have you actually seen the Giants play this year ? because the comments you're making about how we wont have a chance etc are a bit off the mark !
did you not see how we constantly outstripped the Wakefield defence with pace - both backs and forwards - something Leeds failed to do !
We murdered Hull KR with power and pace and they are a pretty decent outfit on their own patch.
I think you may have underestimated us on your comments on this thread.
Personally i think it will be a cracker to see how far off we are from being a top side and to see if Leeds' start has just been a blip and there champion form is coming back !!

| If I were a Giants fan I'd be pretty optimistic about my team's chances on Sunday.... just like I would have been in the corresponding fixture last season.
The question is, has Brown been able to cure the 'awe' factor his team suffered from last year?

Hopefully so , our squad has more experience with fa'aologo, Gilmour etc who have played in more big games than most players.
We destroyed Saints in the Semi final last year because Brown installed a 'you can beat them' attitude into the players and i think knowing we can beat the 'big boys' will only envourage our players when playing the likes of Leeds and Saints.

We were stuffed 34-6 in april 2009. by June it was 20 -12 (with you scoring an interception try in the last minute, so a very close game). So a good indication that there was less 'awe' 3 months later. Time will tell.

On the evidence seen so far the answer might well be in the affirmative

| There have been comments on here about pace and attack but imo these are the best two defences in super league and I am looking forward to to a very hard defence based game and i would be suprised if either team scored more than three tries

The defences were outstanding with not many attacking opportunities.
