Oh what a wonder thread and a chance for me to own saints all over. Lets have a look at how much St Helens have let us down in this World Club Challenge competition in the finals -
2000 22 January Melbourne Storm 44-6 St Helens 13,394
2003 14 February Sydney Roosters 38-0 St Helens 19,807
If it wasn’t for the farce of the 1997 world club challenge competition St Helens would of held the lowest ever attended world club challenge final ever in 2000 grand final. However you do hold the fantastic record of been the only team not to score a point in a final - the 2003 world club challenge.
In 2007 and 2008 St Helens have proven nothing more than to be flat track bullies by finishing at the top of the league and losing to Leeds Rhinos when it matters in the grand final.
It’ll be a sorry sight at Old Trafford for saints fans I’m sorry to say because Leeds Rhinos want they world club challenge back more than ever only this time we won’t have the heartbreaking hang over from the world cup.
