What happened was par for the course in sport in general.

Chev Walker played 183 games for Leeds (currently 10th on the list) after making his debut as a 16 year old in 1999 (the youngest player to do so for Leeds in the SL Era) and yes I think him being a former favourite son will have fed into the ovation he received after sustaining his injury.

But....But......But.....any player would have got the same ovation.

Yeah, I think that is a fair statement. I doubt many opposition players would have their name chanted but most suffering that type of injury (even those pantomime villains we love to hate) would, I like to think, receive the standing ovation as they left the field.

But in the SS right in front of me I know how I and my like minded friend base would react. It would be in the exact same manner as what happened to Chev. We didn't do it for nostalgic purposes.
