I'm looking at the original press cutting (and team-sheet) and I couldn't say with any certainty who it is. He dresses to the left if that's any help.

It's one of: Vince Fawcett, Rob Ackerman, Cavil Heugh or Richard Gunn..... maybe.

I think it's Vince Fawcett. I remember his yellow cortina being parked up in the car park.

I think Mark Brooke Cowden left a year or 2 earlier to Salford?

Remember that shot of Daryl Powell in the crowd at a Sky game saying "He can't f*cking pass" after Chris McKenna threw another one at the touch judge?

He was only copying (and slightly altering) a Doug Laughton comment about Fawcett - always the trendsetter young Vince.



Mind, if you watch that Scrumdown "Seven of the Best" video, he looks like a world-beater on the wing. Both games were against Brimah Kebbie though....

Ball in hand and just running with it he did indeed. It was the fine subtleties of the game - such as being able to pass or catch - that eluded him.

Mind you, played for the U-21s at Leeds IIRC then got a fortunate but successful stint at Parra.

Back to Ikram I found this image from his Leeds days. It was a good 'A' team bunch back then but few ever made it far in the first grade.
