| Quote ="gateaux"The bus was all well and good other than at the end of the games where the queues were massive for the buses - as has been said a shuttle service or something should have been set up as the public transport couldn't deal with the volume of people wanting to use it after the games.'"
yeah i can understand your point, but it dint really effect us. We walked back to the centre for a few drinks and a meal on sat, then on sunday we managed to get a taxi (£4) between 6 of us. A shuttle service should have been in order as mentioned before as this would allow more people to explore the city and have more to do

Just got back and on the whole agree with most of what the Admiral says.
Just to add:
Running out of lager by mid-afternoon on day two was inexcusable
£3:50 a pint, £2 for a soft drink and £3 for a portion of chips was pushing the limits of decency, especially with the knowledge that most would be in the ground for the duration.
No body cavity search (like at Cardiff) on entry which meant that on Day 2 we could take what we liked in the way of food, drink, fire-arms, etc.
We purchased ‘Unreserved’ seating but were never challenged for our tickets wherever we went so those who paid the little extra for reserved seats were unnecessarily overcharged.
Had good-hearted banter with virtually all other fans with the distinct lack of Celtic supporters, did anyone actually see any because we didn’t?
Which just strengthens my belief that awarding them a Franchise above Widnes is becoming increasingly more folly.

They probably made just as much noise as the Leeds fans!!!
Why were the fans so quiet - hangovers maybe?? It was like being in a morgue in the West Stand, I thought we must be observing an 80 minute silence. We made more noise shouting for Wigan than we did for our own side.

| 99 ice cream 2.50 and 1.50 for a cup of hot water!! They dont charge for hot water on the motorway services!! Needles to say I didnt buy the hot water as it was the same price as tea and coffee - they said that they have to pay for the cups!
On the whole, we enjoyed the weekend. First time to Murrayfield and our first concern was parking the car, but thanks to some helpful traffic wardens we found a side street about a quarter of a mile away. Buses were plentyful during the day and despite the road works the city centre was not too bad as the touristy bits were there too.
Would go again next year
BTW Did anyone see Cunningham and Grahams bit in the Daily Mail on Saturday rubbishing the Magic weekends? That was before Wigan stuffed them!!

| The west stand upper also seemed very quiet. Seemed to be the only one cheering when we scored apart from a six year oldish boy.

| I think Edinburgh as a city is far more attractive as a weekend destination than cardiff and far easier to get to. The down side is the location and lack of facilities at Murrayfield. Id like to have seen the adjoining park being turned into a fans area with a big screen and perhaps a beer and food festival rather than a bog standard bar.
The stadium and surrounding area reminded me of the rose bowl in pasadena which similarly has an adjoining park which UCLA fans use for the tailgate party. Something similar is feasible with a little more thought and would also attract more locals if there was a carnival around the entire area. If they want to build support they need to keep it at edinburgh for a few more years yet. Moving the weekend every two years means as a local concept it will never take root and will just be a moveable feast fro the same 25 -0k of fans from the heartlands.

So they didn't buy it because the cup of tea was the same price ?
They warmed a babys bottle in a cup of tea ?
I am now intrigued, I want to know if they drank the tea afterwards, I want to know how cold the tea was and how hot the milk was, hell I want to know if they used the baby's milk in the tea...

Also, does she drink Green tea? My Mum drinks that, doesn't really look appealing to me, so I just stick to Guiness. But she gets alittle worried when I sometimes drink that on a morning at 6 am.

Green tea is nice, I drink that. It is also meant to be good for you because it is meant to make your metabolism work faster.

| Had a fantastic time, I was there with the family buit also playing with the lost loiners so never a dull moment. Also saw a fair few people around I knew.
From an adult perspective I enjoyed the set up at Murrayfield. The queues for the bars and food stalls weren't too long and it was great sitting in the sun with a pint. For the kids there seemed to be a lot going on behind the west stand with inflatables and stuff but unfortunately this was curtailed by high winds on the sunday. The only prob would have been if it had rained. Luckily it didn't but some more under cover areas around the stadium would be an idea for next year.
As far as prices are concerned they may seem steep but they were typical of "festival" prices. It was never going to be a cheap weekend but it's an "event" that all clubs supporters can go to and be involved as opposed to GF night. In that way it was inclusive and seemed to attract a good cross section of fans. 99.9% of the fans were true RL fans without any dickeads. I didn't see any ugly moments in the whole weekend which makes a change from other big RL events I've been to.
As far as ticketing was concerned there seemed to be enough space to move around the stadium at will apart from in the east stand which was mainly full so as to look good on TV. Elsewhere you could almost have your pick of seats.
Edinburgh as a city has plenty of great bars and restaurants and more accommodation than Cardiff. I will certainly be back next year and would recommend it.
