| Quote ="El Diablo"As above, in Fantasy Rugby, where reality isn't such an annoying intrusion, I'd definitely sign Greg Inglis. I think he would meet most of my criteria as an import of "the right quality" without too much trouble.
Staying British, I'd still take Shenton for the right price. Again, in reality, he's not going to be available at any sensible price and I think there's very little out there that is sufficiently better than what we've got to be worth forking out for. I think we have players with real potential around the place, and I think perhaps now is the time to be bringing them on. Watkins is still very raw, but only game time will change that. Plenty of time for that between now and October. Ditto Gibson, who is still playing his way back to form and fitness. Another process which only playing matches is going to accomplish.
Waving the chequebook is easy, finding something to wave it at is the challenge.
Given the Eastwood situation affecting plans, I wouldn't say no to another forward, again, providing the right one is available. Is Gorden Tallis playing for anyone at the moment?'"

Who's this, Inglis?
In the stand off stakes think Olsen Filipana and then add a few pounds.
He looked a bit more like his old self last Saturday but still a long way to go.

Hape looked dangerous in spells for Bath last weekend. He still breaks tackles and produced some superb offloads. He's not had a happy time at Bath, but I'm not entirely sure Union clubs have a clue about what they are actually looking for with League centres.
I think he would be worth looking at. He was top quality, that's a good place to start.

It was a b1tch at the Grand National on Saturday when, after several pints, I'd queued for half an hour for the loo, wedged in shoulder to shoulder, only to get stage fright.
I give myself little motivational speeches. It works, but you get funny looks in the loo when you're muttering things like "come on out you come", "I am not leaving till I am relieved" and "I've been waiting for this for ages and you won't stop my enjoyment, now get out".

| And from the horses (husband's) mouth so to speak:
[i"I know Brian will conduct an extremely in-depth analysis,"[/i he said. [i"It's often said you learn more from your defeats than victories. I think everybody can be extremely confident in the ability of the players and coaching staff. We normally do deliver on the big day. Though on Sunday we didn't, the players are tried and tested and have delivered on quite a number of occasions. Clearly we are always looking to improve, but I believe it's an extremely talented group of players who can achieve our objectives this season."[/i
But weren't the WCC and Challenge Cup part of our objectives?

| Yes and I am sure all at the Rhinos believe the squad was talented enough to achieve those objectives as well.
But in sport, its' about how the selected team plays on the day. there's no evidence at all to suggest that even if we had added Sam Burgess, Michael Shenton, Greg Eastwood and Israel Falou we would have won Sunday's game or the WCC.
Had Mclennan delivered on Sunday maybe GH might've given him so dosh to blow on the luxury of another player.
Quote Financially it is a blow, we had hoped to progress further, but of course it's the luck of the draw at the nd of the day. To go out at the first hurdle does have an impact, particularly in these recessionary times – it is challenging for everybody at every club every day.
'" Hmmmm, wasn't a distinguished and intellectual poster pointing these harsh facts out to the "Spend, spend, spend" brigade a week or so back?
