RHINOS v. SAINTS
What a game in prospect on Sunday. A near full house should welcome the best two teams by a mile and a big TV audience should be enthralled. The league meeting had everything: big hits, great skill, and despite what the fools on SKY say, the mutual respect between the teams at the end was evident. Saints have been a bit hit-and-miss this season and at the time of writing there are doubts over Long, Wellans, Cunningham and Pryce. Puletua is a great signing but saints really need there big players available for this one.

Leeds should be almost at full strength. Buderus could well be back and, if fit, he will be a big plus for Leeds. That nasty Ryan Bailey should be back to annoy 'ginger spice' while Brent Webb will be the better for a few games. Assuming that both teams are at full strength this is such a tough one to call. There are battles all over the pitch to look forward to, none more than in the front row and in the halves. An intriguing game, one I cannot wait for, and I’m going for Saints to win it at the death by 4.

Those criticising the "style" of play are doing so with the benefit of hindsight. We have won 2 championships with it but today we were outcoached to some extent.

Had we scored from the Burrow break it would have been a whole different story IMHO.

For me the Buderus selection misfired and we failed to cope with the rotation of Cunningham / Roby which gave them the edge at the crucial stage of the game.

Also I didnt understand Burrow defending outside Senior. They clearly targeted this and Gidley exposed the mismatch and punished us on that wing.

Having said all that their weakness in goalkicking meant we were still in touch with 10 minutes to go

wigan game apart we have been average all season.we have beaten such as catalans because they have been poorer than us.
there is no set plays,no pattern to our attack or defence and we lack structure.
we are better than this,but we need to up our game and quickly

I think "rubbish" is a tad harsh tad, we had good field position quite alot, the only things that are letting us down is the inability to take chances against the big sides and the lack of discipline, we don't look the force we did at the start at last year, but hopefully our bad patch has come at the start and not near the end like last year, the game at KR and today will have taken alot out of Saints, and with their small squad and a probable long run in the cup I can see us being the form team at the end of the year.

i have had people pm me in the last ten minutes point things out, i have replied.it's called adult conversation.

The point is when we decided to take chances and offload in the last 15 minutes we looked good and troubled Saints.Up until that point we had been pedestrian.If we had played like that this from the beginning(which Saints always do) the result may have been different.We are playing far too much safety first rugby at the moment.

What form of 2007. This kid unfortunately looks out of his depth. Has simply not got the size or skill needed at this level - see gidley for comparison.

Don’t get me wrong mate, there is definite room for improvement. It was our indiscipline that cost us dearly today and I’m finding it really hard to understand what Buderus brings to the party that Diskin doesn’t.

But I don’t think we need to change our style of game at all, just improve the way we are playing.

I'm very dissapointed. Nine games gone and two trophies lost. Two comprehensive defeats against Saints.
I'm not bagging any individuals, but as a unit we are not where we were this time last year - the quality of football is lower. SL this year in general has been very average - weaker than I've seen in a long time.
