I attended a Leeds v Hunslet game at Elland Road in 1987 IIRC.

I realise it was pre-SL but I definitely remember playing Hunslet at Headingley as some of their supporters were sitting by us and shouting at the Leeds players that they were losing ground, to which a Leeds supporter replied "You lost yours years ago".

That could have been a Yorkshire Cup game, which I believe is the last time we played them in a competitive game.

I know we won that game after a struggle, and ended up signing Jimmy Lowes on the strength of his performance at scrum-half. Shortly after Open Rugby ran an article saying what a strange decision it was to sign him, but not half as strange as Laughton's decision to play him at hooker. Yeah, really stupid that, he'd never have made a hooker, would he?

Leeds best chance of winning is to play the game in the forwards and a 4 forward bench is the best way to do this. Watkins is in front of Gibson at present so gets the centre spot that allows us to have 4 forwards on the bench.

BTW, that's a hell of a big pack we can put out....

Who would you use at 9 when Diskin's off the field,or do you think he'll play for the full 80?

With Burrow and McGuire both on the field together I'd be happy with Sinfield at 9 for 10 mins either side of HT. We still have enough kicking options and I'd expect us to keep the game in the forwards anyway so it's not as though we will be throwing the ball around all over.

If Burrow plays I'd expect him to do most of the dummy half work while Diskin is given a breather which was McClennan's option in the GF (after Webb had done it in the FE.) Leaving Sinfield and McGuire to operate in the halves as they have been doing so far this season.

I prefer that option than the one using Sinfield.

Number 3 just doesn't suit Lee Smith.

Does anyone know if Burrow is fully fit? I hope he is because we have sure missed him. If not they may have included him in the 19 to confuse Manly. He may start on the bench as not match fit.

He should be ok now, hes had quiet abit of time to rest.

No he didn't.

Leeds have rotated other players rather than have a dedicated 2nd hooker on the bench but that doesn't mean Diskin regularly played the full eighty.

There Could Still Be A Possibility The Team Will Change, It Will Go Down To The Wire...

He still played the full eighty, maybe not everytime, I wasn't talking about the hooker role specifically
