It works every time.
Reverse psychology
Rothwell my MoM closely followed by Tanaka and Rodon.
Have to say that Rothwell/Tanaka look more of a threat than Ampadu/Gruev.
Aaronsen covers lots of ground and chases down well. If only he could finish better and gets on the steroids he would be immense
Thought Wilder got his tactics wrong last night but a very good performance by all the team last night barring Bamford

You know me JB.
Thought it was funny when he shat himself seeing the cross come over from the right.
At least he managed to duck out of the way to save him the embarrassment of fluffing another chance.
So credit where it`s due
And I didn`t mention Meslier either this time.

| Great performance on Friday, they were never in the game
As others have said, the midfield were great, Rothwell great going forward with the ball, something we miss with Ampadu and Gruev.
All the wingers are looking good which is great to see, and Piroe is finally starting to find some form.

I watched the game and he played well.
Plenty of energy which I`m sure was developed from his time with us.
Still tries to do the fancy stuff that works sometimes then he will lose the ball the next time.
Even my mate Jack Harrison got an assist at the weekend.
Another player that frustrates one minute then pulls something out of the bag another time according to the Everton faithful.

I know.
Never rated him or Bamford.
There you go mentioned him again.
Fingers crossed he leaves in Jan with Leeds having to pay 65k a week towards his wages

| To be fair to Bamford, he's had a disrupted pre season and has had next to no mins. He can be useful still at this level, we'll need him at some point no doubt but hopefully Joseph and Piroe stay fit all season.
Need to back up from Friday tonight, hopefully it's not ''a day after the lord mayors show' as they say, it's a game we need to win.. can't afford it to be flat after Friday. Watford will no doubt park the bus.
Gone a bit quiet on the free agent signing as well..

| I've no issues with Bamford been third choice striker, we just cant rely on him to be starting or making an impact of the bench.

Nothing club can do about that mate. He was very useful last year when fit and had some minutes. Farke said the same. He's 3rd choice as it stands and that fine. You won't find many better at this level than Bamford as a squad striker.

| Think we should have cashed in on him start of this season.
I`m not sure many clubs would want him especially on 70k a week.
There`s got to be better strikers around on that sort of money.
Woods still scoring in the Premier League I see.
But Trebor is right.
We are stuck with him so let`s hope he nets at least 10 this season.

Bamford leads the line ten times better than Piroe, that’s why when he got fit last year Piroe was dropped. He may well be 3rd choice this year, and that’s because his finishing over the last couple of injury hit years has been below the standards he set when he got his England cap etc. We suffered at the back end of last season by not having a competent centre forward, Piroe and Rutter were both inadequate when we needed them most and Bamford was again injured. I still think if Farke had been brave enough to give Joseph the necessary minutes throughout the season he could have made a real difference at the back end. That’s all in the past, hopefully we can manage a top two spot without having a crackerjack centre forward if everyone else pitches in with some goals.

| It`s time our midfielders started to score goals.
When was the last time the likes of Amapadu, Gruev, Rothwell or Tanaka scored taking into account the latter 2 have only started getting picked?
Struijk I think has scored more than all of them likewise Firpo.
Personally I don`t think Bamford leading the line is in his locker nowadays.

Age and injuries mean you’re probably right. We’ve got away with not having anyone that can do that job properly. Joseph still has potential to grow into a better player to lead the line and hold the ball up.

Spot on.
Bamford was one of the best at holding the ball up and leading the line in his peak.
Have to say had Bamford fluffed the chances Piroe and Joseph had tonight I would be slagging him off up hill and down dale.
An ugly 3 points tonight and with 5 of the other 6 games finishing as draws that`s a good 2 points gained over those teams.

| Results over performance for these midweek games, but I was disappointed with our lack of intensity in our duels, their goal being the prime example, but we won't play many teams as physically strong as Watford every week.
Hopefully Ramazani's injury isn't too bad, but I'd put James in if he's out. I also thought Joseph did enough to deserve a start in the next game, he gives us so much more mobility up front that Piroe just can't.
Tanaka was really good again, he's a premier league level player IMO

| Another 3 points, but couldn’t help feeling slightly deflated after that. I didn’t think we’d struggle so much when Ramazani went off, but there was a noticeable difference without him. Might sound tough on Solomon, but we didn’t have the same cohesion in the final third when he came on. The big lads up front for Watford held the ball up well and started causing us some problems, in contrast to the big hole we had in the centre of the field up front. Farke has a couple of decisions to make on Saturday. As Jack said above, I’d go with Joseph up top. I’d also go with James instead of Solomon. It’s been a good start to the the season, let’s hope Farke can find the right combinations within the team to continue that momentum.
