| Last night was poor and embarrassing to an extent but think many are overreacting like others have pointed out, we had a few of our strike and attacking weapons out in Walker, Hurrell and Ward and Lui ( to an extent) our pack is light everybody knows that Agar and Sinfield know that they were trying to bring a middle forward in before the pandemic but might have to weight until next season to get the right man and balance everything out properly, Saints are the best side in SL and have been for past 3 seasons there pack is probably best in SL and could compete with most packs in the world of rugby at the minute, that being said we made them look extra special with our poor discipline giving away countless high tackles and then coming up with silly errors when we did have possession 48-0 is embarrassing to be beaten by anyone but think some fans are getting ahead of themselves saying Prior is no good and Gale is useless they couldn't play their usual game due to sainst literally bullying us all game but both of them were poor last night granted, it's all about the reaction now we don't have to beat Wigan next week for me but we have to compete for the full 80 and Agar has to get his team right for me no backs on the bench Players like Holroyd, Walters and Mustapha meed to get games it will only benefit us in the long run and make them into top grade SL players if their good enough, but on the flip side they shouldn't be used every game because if the team does start to struggle and these young players are playing in a beaten team it will do their confidence no good and fans will be calling for their heads which is not what the club needs or wants.

| Agar is not the coach of a champion side. Leeds are obviously not a champion team at the moment either but the head coach is more than just a rugby "coach". Agar is not the man to build a new team or inspire the current one.
These are difficult times and I am sure that a lot of clubs, Leeds included, are trying to survive. It's not a great time to have to go out and rebuild a shattered squad with a team in decline and still fulfill expectations of a big club. Leeds have definitely made progress but probably the shutdown came at exactly the wrong moment for them.

Agar has a role at this club, and he has the skilset and ability to fulfill that role successfully. That role though is what the guy was brought in to do, not the job he is now doing. Had he been right for the current role then he would have had that in the first place.
His original role was the very reason they went the way with coaching appointments they did. I don't agree with the jobs for the boy, but still they saw the skillset in Agar to do something about it. As a result of not able to concentrate on that role, we now have the added issue of not only the wrong first team coach, but the wrong back up too.

| I take all the points - there are some good points made.
I am not suggesting Agar should go - I am suggesting he needs better support - JJB is a novice compare him to Wellens and the levels of experience. James Webster did he not get Hull KR relegated - compare him to Richard Marshall. Chev more experienced but never run a team. Wolff is a proven coach but he has a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience to support him.
In terms of the team - maybe prudence is the correct option but if you standstill only one thing happens - your competitors go past. Leeds have been in standstill mode since 2015 and it is showing in the quality of the side and the lack of quality coming through the juniors. Look at the team last night - on 5 players that have come through the academy compared to 9 in the Saints side - when you playing the likes of Rhys Evans something is a miss!!
The team don't look fit - Lui and Hurrell are an embarrassment to the coaching/conditioning staff for professional athletes - McCelland also looked heavier than he should. Allowances can be made for lockdown but that applies to all teams.
Saints are a great side - but we shouldn't be getting beat by 50 points - their youngsters are on a different level to ours which given they are competing with Wigan for them suggests a young development process that is well invested and focused.
Last night was a bad night the first 65 minutes last week were also very poor - this should not be overlooked.

| It could be worse. Andy Last could be our coach!
Agar wouldn't be my choice, but he's not likely to be going anywhere. I'm not sure who'd be willing to come over in the current climate anyway.

The players haven't looked fit since Furner. Hurrell is a big lad, but he was breathing out of his backside within 15 minutes of the game last week. It's clear all they have done is lift weights and pose on Instagram rather than concentrating on a mix of Cardio and strength training. A total embarrassment. Giving away so many high shots too, is this down to lack of fitness just tired arms swinging?
Saints however are well ahead of most teams in the league, so I don't want to Knee Jerk.
Gale started the league on fire, but he seems to be struggling at the moment. Good in some bits, poor for the majority though. Hopefully he gets back into the swing soon.

| Covid hasn't just affected the Rhinos. I knew after 15 mins we weren't getting on the scoreboard. Where were the set moves? Who were Gale & McLelland kicking to on the last tackles?
This is the perfect time to give youth a chance. You're only as strong as your weakest link, and there are far too many weak links to try and patch over cracks. Huddersfield have been competitive due to trusting youth over time, and we have loads of potential waiting in the wings.

Maybe I was being over generous with Gale but at least he tried behind a well beaten pack.
We have too many average players in too many positions.
We have nobody other than possibly Hurrell who can produce the X factor required to get us out of a mess.
Equally he can drop a couple of clangers in the same game.
Saints on the other hand have strength, skill and the x factor across the park.
Even LMS looks good in that side!
Bentley once again showing what a miss he was when he signed for you instead of us.
Similar to Walmsley and what would we give for having them two in our team right now.

| At the start of the season we didn't expect the team to be up near the top. Saints are easily the best team in the comp and will certainly do the same against someone else this season. What yesterday does show is what needs to happen to the team to make them challengers again and the areas we're weak in. We'll certainly win our share of games in the league but we'rerealistically a mid table team with an outside chance of pushing for the playoffs. Whilst the loss was bad, the thing that has really annoyed me is Evans on the bench. We keep hearing about Holroyd tearing it up in training and not being overrawed by reputation. We all know what Saints props can do so it w l uld have been great to have a forward take it to them. The chances are it wouldn't have changed the result much but it would have been good experience for him. We need some punch up front and coming off the bench. With no relegation, its the perfect opportunity to start bringing the future prospects through with that little bit less pressure

| In agars prematch interview when asked about Evan's chances of playing, he started to go on about his playing history and finding himself back in full time, how it's about getting a smile back on his face. Sounded like a charity case!
How many of these bargain basement signings are still to come, 'oh he's only on a few quid lets give him a go'. Too many of them make the 17.

Indeed. There isn’t a half in the world that would be on fire behind a demolished pack. We lacked quality out wide due to injuries and just not enough quality players in the squad and we lack quality in the middle due to lack of investment for many reasons. Covid has put our recovery back a bit in my opinion. We were looking at a top forward or two but that appears to have vanished due to financial issues

| It's difficult, how do you get the culture which tells the kids they have to earn a shirt,if the current holders of the shirt aren't seen to be earning it?
If I were Holroyd I'd have been waiting outside Agars office this morning asking what I had to do to play against Wigan on Saturday...

| Bottom line is we are not a top 2 side , we have cleared out some of the dead wood in the squad but it takes time , yes we should have started the process earlier but we didn't and now have to live with that.
We had 7 players out injured that I can think of , 3 from before and 4 from last week , yes I know all 7 probably wouldn't play if everyone is fit such as for example Myler , but a team will also struggle in a salary cap sport with so many out against the top team with hardly anyone out .
We know we need a wrecking ball type prop , maybe 2 , but we also need back with lightning pace , we are too slow across the backs .
In all though it wasn't good enough , there should have been more effort , but that is why we know we still need some more players and can't keep papering over the cracks

| Twice this season we have been under prepared, at the start of the season when we got turned over by Hull yet by the third game we were doing well, and after the lock down we are nowhere near ready, last week against Huddersfield we were lucky to win, only playing well in the last 15 minutes and last night against Saints it showed we have not learned anything from the previous week. Unfortunately someone has to take the blame and you only have to look at the coaching and the conditioning team who candidly have little idea. They need to hold their hands up and say they got it wrong. They look so unfit it’s unbelievable, last week Lui was a disgrace for a professional sportsman, other forwards are carrying too much weight, Hurrell I’m surprised his legs can carry him. What have they been doing for the last 3 months, have they been on holiday.
Watching last night I don’t see our kids shining yet, maybe the occasion of playing Saints got to them, but it was a chance to show us some effort etc. Someone said said we had 7 injuries from last night, already we have a sick list as long as your arm. After 3 months holiday. As much as I like Ward, when fit he is a good player, it’s time we asked Ward and Crosby to stand down retire, and give them a job at the club, we cannot continue to include these within the salary cap.
Having finished my rant, this club need to make changes and fast, last night showed how far behind we are. Ell next season my not be better, the cost of the corporate tickets are likely to increase, however Leeds United are now back in the premier league, the loyalty here is entertainment, would you buy a table of 10 at Headingley or a table of 10 at Elland rd, I hope GH you and your team are watching this, failure to prepare is prepare to fail.

Agree with all of this, can’t help but think that being overweight had led to a couple of the injuries we’ve sustained last week (Hurrell, Lui). Conditioning seems to be non existent at this point and it’s embarrassing from a professional sports team

| Lui has been fat since he came to the UK. It's nothing to do with lockdown. I can't believe none of the coaches he's had have insisted he get in shape.
Hurrell has spent most of the last few months in Tonga grieving for his mam, so it's understandable that he may have put on weight.
Having said that, our strength and conditioning has been rubbish for years. Apart from the odd exception none of them look like elite athletes. I'd get Salford's conditioner in.

| Just for context im not sure anyone is demanding or suggesting we should be a top 2 dide by now.
What is obvious is we need Squad & Coaching improvenents , there have been positives pre-lockdown but 15 minutes aside last week we've come back very under done conditioning wise lacklustre effort wise & pretty Clueless wrt a gameplan.
Would the kids like Holroyd Walters & Tindell got us a win yesterday? No is the answer but imo we'd have seen a positive steo towards getting game time into them & starting that process of their SL Career paths starting.
The Coaching set up is an issue Webster was never good enough Jjb as much as a great servent he is is nowhere near a Coach & Walker imo isnt ready to step up yet.
The recruitment & retention nedds big improvements as well until then we'll be 6th/7th imo

Fair comment re being under prepared twice this year. That’s down to coaching simple as
