| Wigan swopped Jack Hughes for Larne Patrick but are virtually up to the cap.
GH a weak CEO?
At least according to Gilder!
His only weakness that I see is his loyalty to his players - not a bad weakness to have until sentiment overrules common sense.
But remember loyalty is a two way street that has served us admirably over the past decade or so.

Mossop would do well for us, I think he'll be joining us given the departure of Kirke and Bailey.
IN Mossop + Cuthbertson
OUT Bailey + Kirke
I'll take it.

Whilst its a massive improvement ( I hope) we still need 1 or 2 more. Add Burgess and we have:
JP, Kylie, Singleton, Cuthbertson, Mossop & Burgess - Which ever 4 are picked on match day will do a good job.
with
Baldwinson, Tonks, Mulhern all pushing forward with their development. At least one of those you would expect to become a first teamer in a year or 2.
Back row / Loose forward:
JJB, Ablett, Achurch, Walters, Delaney, Ward, Sutcliffe, Foster.
Very very healthy looking pack. Fingers crossed that happens.

It already is. The reconstruction of this side is going to be an immense task, which won't be made any easier by trying to do it all at once in 2016.
GH still seems to believe that the likes of Sinfield, Burrow, McGuire and JJB are still at the top of their game. Anyone who knows anything about the sport can tell you that they're not, but he's too blind to see it.

Front row has two players who are nearer 40 than 30, Singleton has yet to really prove himself that leaves Cuthbertson and the youngsters hardly strength in depth!!
Same goes for the back row JJB, Ablett and Delaney after that its pretty thin!!

Mossop is error strewn especially when it really matters - if he is the best we can do its a poor effort.
Cuthbertson coming out sometime in December - what is that about he should have been here when the rest of the players returned to training

When exactly was that then? Because it seems to me that he was ok in 2011 at Wembley when it mattered and again at OT in 2013 when it mattered and again at Wembley in 2013 when it mattered. Did you have some other game 'when it mattered' in mind?
Also, what's your take on his inclusion in the World Cup squad?
Are you really sure you were thinking of Lee Mossop when you posted that? Have you got him confused with someone else? Someone who wasn't first choice prop for Wigan when we won the double for example?

| I'd be very happy at replacing Bailey & Kirke with Cuthbertson & Mossop. An experienced NRL prop and a 25 year old British prop who's already played for England is just approaching his prime.

Cuthbertson was already signed, and I assume was one of the reasons Clarkson was shipped out.
I would however, be absolutely delighted if had got rid of Bailey & Kirke and Signed Mossop and Luke Burgess back. That would be a massive improvement on what we had. Then to add Cuthbertson to that pack would make things entirely different.

Definitely Mossop - he has a habit of making errors when you least need them.
He plays for Wigan if he had played for Castleford would he have be included in the WC squad? We have seen with Joel Tomkins being selected for England doesn't mean you should be? Tomkins inclusion is down to him playing for Wigan and nothing to do with his current ability. Playing in a top side helps when it comes to gaining international selection. How many games did he play in the WC?
The fact Wigan have taken Patrick over Mossop says much about Wigan's view on him - surprisingly different to yours. Parramatta don't seem that bothered to keep him either!!

The main reason for that will be because they've paid him a years salary and only saw him play for about 30 mins - it's not because of his ability or lack of it.
If fit and healthy, he's a solid signing.

| He looked out of his depth when selected for England in the WC but I have seen very little of him compared to the Wigan fans, so unfair to write him off based on that one game. Would be delighted if the Burgess rumour comes true.

I would say so, yes. Can't remember him being anything special for Wigan but plenty disagree. Still young for a prop too.

I think Wigan want Mossop as well which is why I suspect they've only announced Patrick on a one year loan deal and shipped out Hughes so they can sign Mossop
Originally when Wigan were talking to Huddersfield about Patrick it was supposed to be on a permenant longer deal and when the news about Mossop wanting a return to the UK surfaced they were unable to accommodate both as Wigan have/had first refusal on his return to SL and Mossop's first choice is a return to Wigan, hence why I suspect the Downgraded Patrick announcement today so they can land Mossop as well

Patrick is signing for Wigan for good. I know they have announced a loan deal, but it will actually be long term. Wigan can not fit Mossop in.

Ok then. Strange both sides haven't announced it as long term deal though.
Still cannot see us getting both Mossop & Luke Burgess and if we could only have one of those I'd personally go for Luke Burgess

| It's all happening innit?
I could not believe it when I returned to this forum after hols and began reading what I have read to date !!!!!! Kirke and Bailey both thankfully gone and potentially replaced by Mossop and Luke Burgess...with the young Leigh lad too. I'd have said it was a bluddy wind up just a few weeks ago after reading countless diatribes about the exisiting 2014 squad being good enough to roll over for another season...as if!!!!
I am almost tempted to join the proverbial SCO's now and sign up for a season ticket, if all true (if not still damn silly for a 200 miles round trip each home match).
It begs the question though why did our CEO state previously that there would be [ino changes[/i ?? Either it is (welcome) belated panic or hard to comprehend (stupid) tactics in trying to secure earlier season ticket sales
Wonder if McGuire and/or Sinfield are begining to quake a little?
