I am constantly surprised that our opponents fans seem to think that a free flowing, penalty light game will suit their team more than Leeds? Even with pedantic reffing and stop-start games we still manage to score a good 300-400 points more than everyone bar Stains. Imagine what we could rattle up without a Ganson on the pitch?

You seemed to have miss read me there. Im not saying it may have favoured us. Im saying it would have certainly favoured the 15000 people that were watching that game because the ref killed it as a spectacle in that first 20minutes of sheer sh*te refing.

He didnt spoil it for me last night,,,although when he starts "inventing" rules I do get a bit frustrated.
I think for the first 20 minutes he forgot it wasnt on Sky and that the audience love to watch HIM.

Suppose, lets face it Smithy wasn't band for the final after booting someone in the face (I forget who). But **Calderspud** was banned for two games recently for tripping and they may want to make an example out of Bailey.
edit!
Not Calderspud, was Mathers......whoops!

I agree, if only for that crime against humanity that he committed in the 1980's with Phil Collins, they both should have been locked up for a very long time.

When you hold down and mess around in the tackle (instead of rolling away as the law dictates) you're liable to get caught up with the player attempting to regain his feet to play the ball.

So he deserved a kick in the face (potentially causing facial injuries) because he held a player down for longer than he should? You're pathetic.

& That's usually caused because the players have got fed up with the ref not taking action so they take the law into their own hands.

That is quite clearly not what he is suggesting. The point is that when there is two players in close proximity like during a tackle the potential for accidental contact is significantly increased.

The contact was accidental as a result of Smith trying to get to his feet. Not deliberate in any way and no intent to cause any injury to Bailey. Smith doesn't look behind him and does not know position of Bailey's head when trying to get to feet.

Agreed Smith doesn't look bahind him, but i dont need to look behind me to know someone has hold of my legs........I dont think Smith intended to connect with his face but he did kick out. I dont know about you but my feet go on the floor and push up to re-gain my feet. Not in the air.

| Were Wakefield the most negative side to ever come to Headingley? The showed no ambition to win the game and were on a pure damage limitation excercise before kick off. I know they have injuries but the mentally to win games should be strong, who ever plays.

| I did not attend the game, but one thing baffled me.
Why the f*ck would any team kick 2 points for a penalty when 12-2 down???
John Kear has done OK at Wakefield, but he's only a small club coach trying to scrape the odd win. He'd never do well at a bigger club with such negative coaching methods.

Negative & Boring.
What difference does 2 points make at 12-2?? Leeds players and coaches must have been really worried that Wakey were eating into Leeds' lead icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif
Wakey deserve Kear. They'll never make Top 8 this year. They do look a good bet for 2012 Northern Rail cup though.

because we were down to 12 men at the time taking the kick allows at least a minute to kick re set for the kick off and the ball for another 6 tackles, condtions were heavy underfoot good tactics for me, bearing in mind we were held up over the line gifted you 6 points although I believe JJB was offside at the kick off (will see on Sky tonight)
Thanks for the confidence we will be in the Northern rail as SL world champs you seemed to have some difficulty yourselves taking on a scratch side hay ho though Leeds are more holier than others these days.

If that is the case it would be incredibly embarrassing for the game and in particular whoever the referee was.
I hope he was offside.

I have every confidence Wakey will not be in SL in 2012. Unless they get a new ground sorted.
I don't read too much into early season form. It's in October when it matters, and by then all the Wakey players will be on holiday and the fans interest in the season long finished.

Because Wakefield were down to 12 men at the time!
In those circumstances most coaches would take the opportunity to get easy points on the board and knock a couple of minutes of the clock.

Unfortunately Mr Ganson was correct in allowing play to continue as JJB (and all the Leeds players) were clearly onside behind Smith's re-start.
